It was a damned good game, I loved every minute of it. It ran like ass and looked terrible compared to the reveal.. but yeah... great game anyhow.

I thought it was shit.
"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.
Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

I felt the game was like 75% complete... so much promise with the premise of the game world and it's abilties, yet seriously lacking in openworld activities.
Imagine having to play detective, by using info gained from your phone to find something or someone, with only one small starting clue. Of course, that would involve using your brain for more than 'X' 'X' 'X' ....
And the side missions just needed a little more oomph - but more fleshing out, rather than lay in wait, club someone and win. (for example).
Potential, should be realised in WD2, but you know it won't be. *sigh*

Not only did it look and run like ass (bad comparison there sabin, there are many asses I'd gladly spend some time with instead of this ), but the controls are what truly ruined it for me. Mouse and keyboard felt horrible and the driving was some of the worst ever. And a game like this I just can't play with a gamepad. And then it all sounded terrible too.
So that's 3 major points on which it failed miserably, at which point I couldn't get myself to give a shit about any story or game mechanics.

Can't speak for the DLCs (there only is one real story DLC or), but i doubt the multiplayer is still alive after all that time.

I find it funny how people shit all over this game, yet Division is garnering so much praise for a whole lot of nothing. I had far more fun in Watchdogs than I did in Division.
What gives?

*presses Q to hack Kaltern's account*
On top of what you mentioned, it would be welcomed if they actually included a physics engine in the sequel, possibly with guns that shoot bullets instead of withered flowers, a handling model that takes into account that cars have four wheels, meaningful environmental destruction that isn't part of the scripted Truman Show, reworked stealth mechanics that don't involve the press-a-button-to-knock-out-people-no-matter-what, a brand new lighting system capable of rendering daylight without making it look like Mars, a completely new team of writers able to grasp the basics of narration, a different protagonist with a minimum amount of charisma, a...yeah

Sounds more like you weren't really in the mood for that kind of (open-world) game at the time.
Can't remember how the controls were for me when i finished it.
For the graphics some SweetFX/Reshade would have helped too.
