I'll rewatch them anytime (at least 2 and 3) over this terrible reenacting called Episode 7.

The dude that made the popular reviews of the prequels actually liked EP7. Called it a soft-reboot, and recommended people watch it.

Yep, I think they spend a lot of time on those reviews, so there isn't an actual review, but there's a video of them discussing it.

He sums it up around 37 minutes in. Basically that it feels more like Star Wars with less of the dumb stuff. Wink Of course they're going to scrutinize the shit out of it.

One thing is that is doesn't explain a whole lot. It not cool if you have to read a book(s) to understand the movie fully.

@EternalBlueScreen

Ohh, I really like their stuff and follow it regularly but I just set that 'review' aside until I watched the film myself but then I just forgot about it until you mentioned it. Razz

Ray is a Mary Sue.

If they revealed that she was Obi-wan's Force spirit all along, I wouldn't be surprised.

For the prequels, there is only George to blame for being too obsessed with Star Wars and his ranch that he totally stopped tapping his hot wife so she ended up cucking him and divorcing him.

That'll teach you George.

I didn't post here yet? Hmm.

The acting was reasonably good, I kinda liked the main characters although they made Ray too much of a tomboy and then immediately powerful, weird, there was no buildup. Finn had some good humour in his lines but the romance didn't persuade me at all. There was no romance in the air and Ray was not presented as an easily romanceable woman at all.

In some ways it felt like a rehash of the good ol' star wars tropes from the original trilogy, so much plagiarism that I could fill a page. They probably played it safe.

I was expecting more from the jedi fights. Even Finn randomly used a lightsaber properly ... weird. The fake death was just another cliche to add to a mountain of them.

Bottom line is that the KOTOR games are still far above the new movie story-wise and those The Old Republic trailers captured the epicness and mayhem of jedi/sith duels. The movies seem like fan efforts in comparison Laughing

Also, I was not convinced that princess Leia could be the leader of anything other than a book club and that Han Solo and his furry friend would be able to survive so many years by being a bullshitter.

I was not convinced that someone easy going like Finn would just up and leave, they are brainwashed aren't they? He can't shoot civilians, are you shitting me?

I was also not convinced about the power of the Empire/First Order after their defeat. Reminded me of Mass Effect's Cerberus ... endless troops out of nowhere? Who pays for that? Laughing Laughing

Source: I am replaying the KOTOR games for the third time and have seen all 7 movies. The first 6 twice. So I know what I am talking about without being indictrinated. Laughing

You should watch Clone Wars and Rebels series, also much better than this movie. Tons of great characters (again much better than here) and they arent afraid of doing stuff that hasnt already been made. It can take a while to "get" the graphic style though, some of it i like and some of it i find somewhat irritating (not to the degree that i stopped watching though).

3d Clone Wars is hit and miss.

2d Clone Wars was amazing. But they did fuck over Grievous by building him up to be this bad ass and he proceeds to disappoint everyone by coughing a lot, spinning, then dying.

Also I hate how being lazy and uninspired is now called "playing it safe".

There are some episodes and stories in 3D clone wars that i think was really amazing, i usually find the clones pretty boring, but fortunately there's enough of other characters and stories.

Nope we can't agree it's a done thing because that's perhaps exactly what they want you to be thinking so that they surprise you.

It's the most sane theory for sure though.

Gonna give it a rewatch when it comes to BluRay. Then I will qualify it... so far, the more I think of it, the more I conclude that Star Wars franchise is an epic one, but that the first 3 movies will be iconic ones and the rest, just add ons.
