I just can't, I have to drop in and drop out all the time. It makes the placement of items rather hard.
Tried a bunch of things, but nada.

It works just fine here, and you can hold SHIFT to lock WSAD into workshop browsing mode rather than movement.

I think the #1 mod for people that want to really get into the town building/growing aspect, is a goddamn bird's eye camera! Having to manually thunk down items in first person, twisting and positioning them in such a way, will be incredibly vexing once your settlements are getting bigger. Being able to draw back on the camera and place things at a more management view? That will be great.

Hmm, maybe it was locked in my game, my fiancee had the same. But I'll try and see if shift can come to the rescue. Thanks Smile

Open the Workshop menu (holding V). Walk to a villager/settler and aim at them. The "E" button should now let you give them a command.
First, you press E while looking at them once. Then, you walk over to the task you want them to do. When hovering over the task, the E button will now be "Assign". Pressing it will link that character to this task.
So, example:
- Open Workshop menu
- Find Villager, Aim at them, Press E
- Walk to garden.
- Aim at a plant, Press E.
Now they'll be working them.

And something new for people who have the perk to establish supply lines:
When you aim at someone, you'll now have a new option under the Q button for the supply lines. But you cannot use a named NPC for this job.

Does the rifleman perk also apply to shotguns? Or is there another perk for that that I'm overlooking.

I believe shotguns are classed as "rifles" in this, as are submachine guns too, according to a loading screen tip.

In Fallout 5 there will be infinite guns, procedurally generated, like in Borderlands 2. And they will be color-coded to easily correspond to the skills: Green guns, Red guns, Yellow guns.

Blue sniper guns will be introduced in a DLC that is on the disc but locked except for XBone owners of the Prestige Edition.

It's fantastic how enemies get unlimited grenades and molotovs they can spam the entire fight with pinpoint accuracy - really lends itself to the gun-play.

Going to actually record that now..one fight with 5 bandits, no less than 15 grenades spammed.

There is absolutely no doubting the *significant* streamlining in the game. It really is quite sad as the world itself is fantastic so far Smile

Can't say I'm feeling anything from the world so far. Just a bunch of nothing between some people sitting around with a fetch quest.

Any optimization or performance tweaks out there, game is running pretty well on Ultra but still want to tweak with it a bit, which setting affects the fps the most.
