They are liars as well. even just starting up the game and immediatelly alt tabbing, win7 vs win10, I saw a 3gb+ difference in RAM usage, in favor of win10.
the game never used more than 3.6gb ram in win10, while in 7, it would hog up 5.5gb at start and rise to 6.5 as I played.
Basically the game that made me install win10 and forget win7 that i've been using since RTM.
then there is their laughable season pass. a friend beat all the story dlc's in 1.5 hours, not rushing.
while for 10 bucks you get 10-20 hours of witcher 3 HIGH QUALITY DLC content.
their next game I am not buying until it's humble bundle material. Even though I paid only 15 bucks for it, I just don't wanna support these scumbags ever again, Denuvo or not.

win10 is even more economical with ram (if its needed by another application) than 7. and please dont whine about 10 using your ram when nothing needs it. it gives it free again if needed, it just makes better use of it if its not needed by another other programm. you paid for it to be used and not for beeing abandoned most of the time

Dunno. Haven't tried it yet. I bet smaller issues at this point is blown out of proportion.

would love to see cpy cracking this new release, and still have the hope that denuvo is somehow extremely fucking up and causing this issues. that would send the right message to the devs

the game runs fine if you have the horsepower for it. the problem is it is unoptimized, using up everytihng you can throw at it. and 2 out of the 4 gameworks effects are framerate killers. and win 7 sucks for this game.
other than that, if your system is good, it plays fine.

so you call a 3,7ghz quad core with ht has not enough horsepower to make a fucking unreal engine 3 game run properly? i dont want to live in this world...

but can anyone say how bad or whats wrong with the game in current state ? does it have memory leak like before or did they fix that?

by memory leak you mean the crappy job they did with the game on win7?
that wasn't fixed, no. you need to play this on win8.1 or preferably win10 unless you have 16gb ram.
and you need a 4+ghz i5/i7 if you want to keep 60 fps in the batmobile, and a 970 or higher, or amd 390 or higher to deliver those 60 fps to the cpu. and preferably an SSD.
It's very much like AC unity. unoptimized console port, but you won't notice it if you have the hardware for it.
I had no issues with the september patch on an i5 4670k and gtx970, but the game ran fine only on win10. on win7 i had significant slowdowns.

it doesnt even get steady 60fps inside the gcpd with textures on low and everything else on medium + no gameworks stuff (xeon 1230v3 with 3,7ghz on all cores + gtx 770)

yep, not enough for this game. it's an unoptimized port. probably your 2gb vram gpu getting demolished.
and that cpu clock would get hogged to 100% on all cores during high speed batmobile driving.

yes its the 2gb card, but with textures to low im way under 2gb usage. and this card still does its job just very good in every fucking game, so i dont feel the need to spend money on a new one. and no cpu usage isnt at its limit neither is the gpu usage, driving tbh is very smooth now compared to release status. its just massive fps drops, even if you dont move

I'm not saying that their lazy work is justified with buying more RAM. All I'm saying is that 16GB is prefect amount for a gaming PC in general. Some games like RAM more than the others and nowdays when we have tons of apps running in the background 8GB can easly be quite full. |
I've never come across a single game or situation in which 8GB was not perfect. I don't like this "wellllll, 16GB is perfect for PC gamers" schtick. 8GB is perfect, 16GB brings no tangible improvements or benefits to GAMERS .. other than Batman AK's bullshit lackoprogramming.

how in hell can't 8GB of system RAM and 4Gb of VRAM handle something which runs fine with 8GB of shared RAM on PS4 (XBone doesn't count - it runs even worse there)

A series of factors:
-Windows memory footprint is much higher than the PS4 OS one
-Stuff doesn't need to swap between RAM and VRAM on the PS4, since it's shared
-PC code is designed to run on a wide range of hardware -> more abstraction layers and generic code -> more overhead
-PC-specific effects not present on consoles might consume more memory (i.e: AA) [don't know if this applies here, depends on how you configured your graphic options]
...and of course, the most obvious and probably the most important factor:
-Game was coded by incompetent monkeys over a weekend and no amount of tweaks and patches can hide the fact that, at the core, it's still an unoptimized pile of shit.

I saw drops to 52-55 fps when I was driving the batmobile (post-patch). It looked like the game was stuttering (I had it installed on HDD, not ssd). When I was running around the city it was anywhere from 60 to 90 (max limit) fps.

The only good performance wise UE4 game I played was The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. it was absolutely glorious (performance AND graphics).

I didn't meant that the game itself needs 8GB I meant that 16GB will definitely make your life much easier if you like to run some extra apps in background while gaming. We can argue about this forever but this game is not the first one who had horrible RAM handlin. CoD was another and I'm sure we will see more of these horribly optimized games. So yes I think if you can afford 16GB go for it.

well it can't be magic. turn on full system monitoring and check where the issue is.
i've not heard anyone with the issue you are describing yet. most people complain about driving/gliding fps drops.
maybe your game didn't update properly, there were cases of that.

@sabin
you had issues with vram in win10 with batman? i had around 35% ram free while in game on win10, completely untweaked installation, so with the defaualt 1.2gb ram usage from win10.
