Seems like a poor man's Space Hulk. Doesn't look as bad as Eisenhorn though.

The slow gameplay was my main problem with Space Hulk too. Sad
The devs justified it because your characters are Terminators, heavy units.

Out of a thousand humans, only one can become a marine.. BUT..out of a THOUSAND marines, only ONE can become Deathwatch/Ordo Xenos... These guys are utterly the BEST of the BEST but 1st Company Deathwatch Terminators are like mini-gods equipped with the best stuff + thousands of years of battle experience. However, against Genestealers and upper tier Tyranids they have a challenge against the ever-advancing Hive Fleet. Game frick'n ON!!!!

Edit: yeah those two last Tyranid Warriors were acting in mercy doing dick scratch. Confused Usually their semi-brutal but if a single Genestealer showed up.. esshhh! Need Termies for those d00ds.. Cool

That's a cop out I think Bob, they can justify it however they like, but ultimately the players are going to be bored watching the units trundle along, turn after turn in-game. Like how many turn based games do you play, where you just eventually fast skip movement to move things along quicker. I do it in most games, if not nearly all, eventually.
Sometimes even opting for instant movement, teleporting units to desired locations instead of watching them walking about.. I hope they provide an option to speed things up at least. Just small things like that really affect game play, like you already mentioned Bob, with Space hulk.

@xyzg I always disable that stuff, been quite a few games ruined by slow repetative unavoidable animations, will skip this.

Personally another thing that kills me: subtitles with voiceacting.. One or the other, both = read 4x faster than voiceover and skip all. Sometimes voice is worse than just reading as well.

@AmpegV4, you and me both mate. Yes most definitely, unskippable voice acting scenes are a real chore to sit through.. I can't recall many off the top of my head that did this, but there have been many and many games that are guilty of that.. no fast forward or skip button on long speeches..

I remember Final Fantasy Tactics War Of The Lions had these long ass cutscenes with a lot of talking that you couldn't skip, and they would play these scenes before the start of some difficult long ass battle you had to fight... so obviously you're going to die a few times first, and you're forced to watch those long fucking scenes over and over.. Heh it's 32-bit, makes it the first UE4 game using x86 instead of x64 I believe.

Downloading for a look, but from the video it looks like it will be fucking terrible. Still, UE4, I wonder how moddable it might be....

Screens, despite my settings the game runs in a pretty weird resolution with black borders so I'll have to look into that more.

(UE4 project file is included as well so theoretically you could load it right into the UE4 SDK/Editor and well I don't know what might be possible but it could be pretty moddable though it might not be intended.)

@JBeckman
Ah damn, i thought this was the other coming Warhammer game in the style of the Van Helsing games.
Too many Warhammer games. :O

Still gonna try this as it's a turnbased game.

Well, played the first two missions now.
And while the combat is pretty simplistic, it still is somewhat fun.
You can upgrade your soldiers in stats and with new skills. And get a new weapon after each battle you can equip.
Though i think it might get boring, if one plays this game for too long at once.

Yes and one notices that.
For example ESC has no use at all, for example to get back in a menu.
And to see tooltips for skills you have to keep holding the left mouse over it to see.

// meh, in third missions enemy got stuck in his turn. Embarassed

Seems like opening the project in the UE4 Editor is a no-go as they didn't include the source. Unsurprising, but a shame. Still, the assets should be able to edited to some degree, so things like custom models are probable. Assuming the game is half-decent enough to be worth the effort that is.

The main menu music is so weird for a Warhammer game. It sounds like something from Dune or Mass Effect.

okay so this is a mobile game too, figures... as no matter what screen resolution I bump it up too, all the sprites and backgrounds seem locked at basic low res. Only difference is the screen area available for use. :/

I got another problem with the game though. I had only just started on mission one and I basically was grinding the Tyranids for a good half hour or so rinse and repeating killing them before I moved all the marines into the extraction zone, but then the f&*&^£* game crashed on me, and every time I try to load it now it crashes immediately taking me to the submit a crash bug report window. Don't suppose anyone has an idea for a workaround at all, rather then having to uninstall, reinstall the poxy thing again.

edit: nevermind, reinstalling it again. :/

I think the justification was that it includes all the in-app-purchases/DLC that cost extra on mobile.
