Yes, the Nitro is the 390 equivalent to the Tri-X on the 290X at Sapphire.

At the end of the day, despite me not liking AMD, I would be really happy for them to have awesome DX12 performance and put Nvidia in their place. Otherwise Nvidia will never have incentive to improve anymore.

Have one guy constantly sending me mails from different adresses with the same question "can you lower the price". sad little nerd fucker tries like 3-4 times a day. other than that had only 5 or so inquiries, all of them want warranty+ 200 bucks cheaper than new

and i'm already selling at a cheaper price than anyone else.

I'm not gonna be in time before metal stool solid promo for nv cards expires, if it already didn't Crying or Very sad

It's oldass tech. Chances you'll get it sold are pretty low unless it's some enthusiast that wants to use it in crossfire with an existing card. Didn't you get it for free from someone here?

yeah, but they 200 bucks for a new 280x which is the same shit.

Yeah I got it for free, not from here, but in the meantime i got some cash, and am selling it really cheaply just to get some extra money for a 970. I mean, i'm selling it almost 100 bucks cheaper than anyone else on the main used gear site.

How much you are asking for it?, 7970 is worth around 150€ in here, top end models like Matrix Platinum and Lightnings goes for 160-200€.

145 euro. the next cheapest 195 euro. to put it into perspective, my price is the same price that people here are selling gtx 760's, even less than some.

not a single person that contacted me didn't try to lower price, and they are lowering it absurdly, into like gtx 660 price range.

So i got a present recently 980ti (I had 5850), so it should be a nice upgrade. However problem that I face is that my 5y.old pc has am3+ and phenom II x4 b40 (unlocked CPU), 4gb ram. I can definitely tell that i have bottleneck here Smile Best CPUs my current mobo (970extreme3) supports are fx6300 or fx8300.

Hence what should I do:
1) 120 EUR solution - Buy a fx 6300 or fx8300 (kind of preferred option) + add a bit ram
2) 500 EUR solution W8 for Intel skylake smth (DDR4 etc.)
3) 300 EUR solutiom - Buy some older i5 or smth like that and some cheaper end mobo

I could say that 980ti is overkill for me (I play merely 3-5h a week), however it is a present from my wife hence I will not sell it. For work purposes I need some larger monitor as well (currently have 24 inch 1080p), so maybe using this card for 4k casual gaming would be ok. So what are your recommendations?

Switching from my Athlon X4 640 (4x3.0GHz) to my xeon doubled my framerate with a mere 6950. Imagine the performance boost you'll see if you switch to an intel CPU too Wink I now have just a 970GTX and this PC is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much faster and it's really silent compared to my noisy amd/amd combination.

For that card i would go with number 2, especially if you have that old amd system atm, the speed boost will be enormous. Skylake should be released allready. If that costs too much go with 3 and buy used haswell or devils canyon And be sure to get SSD for OS too if you don't have it allready Razz It will feel like going from bike to plane to you Razz

@whited If you have the cash, with such a nice card as the 980Ti, do yourself the pleasure and get an i7 Skylake. Smile

Otherwise go for the second hand i5 & mobo.

In fact, the average performance increase from Haswell to Skylake is ~3-5%. Some things are faster, others are not.

Skylake only makes sense for people with old Sandy based builds (or older). If you have a high-end i7 Ivy or esp. Haswell/Haswell-E it's a waste of money and resources to go Skylake.

I was sorely disappointed when Skylake was released and read numerous reviews and benchmarks. A couple of reviews and benchmarks were using handpicked applications and tests which put it higher than it is IRL (several of those reviewers/sites are under pressure to show hardware in a good light in order to keep their place on Intels "ship-list".

its pretty much safe to say that if you have something like 2600k then there is nothing to upgrade unless its Haswell-E. i5 SB -> Skylake i7 is nice upgrade tho (or better would be just buy cheap ass 2600K to existing mobo).

I'd be satisfied with 4.5Ghz, which is what I'm running my 3570K at at the moment.

But its ok, I dont think I really need HT, it would just be a "nice to have" thing.

I feel the same way too, either 3770k or 2600k, some nice MT upgrade from my 2500k now that there are some games starting to use it. Sadly there are no cheap ass procs out there, damned Intel procs keep their prices Sad

https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z170-P-D3/specifications/

and 6600k

together it is smth like 350 eur, which is more than AMD upgrade but much less than complete ddr4 etc overhaul

Guys, I'm looking for a new gfx card and my budget is around these. Which should I go for or maybe you have different suggestions?

Gigabyte Radeon R9 380 4GB GDDR5 256-bit [G1 Gaming, WindForce 2X]

GIGABYTE Radeon R9 280 OC WindForce 3X 3GB DDR5 384-bit

ASUS Radeon R9 280X DirectCU II Top 3GB DDR5 384-bit

Thank you!

It seems that r9 280x is mostly out of stock, the only one left is a Gigabyte GV-R928xOC-3GD-TN for a good price.

Since the 280X is nothing more than a rebadged 7970 with a few mhz more, maybe you guys could make a deal. Smile
