Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is the hugely successful Kickstarter from Koji Igarashi and the game is set to be huge.
With that being the case, the developer took to the forums to reassure fans that they would be avoiding the problems Mighty No. 9 has encountered with delayed release dates by going down the path of Yacht Club Games’ Shovel Knight, with additional content to drop after the game’s release.
“Following a recent conversation in the shoutbox with our community manager Mana…it can be confirmed that Bloodstained will follow a staggered content release,” they announced in a dev post.
“Some portion of the game will release first and then additional content (as outlined by the Kickstarter) will follow in the months to come.
“How much of the game will be there at launch day (Just the main game? More?) is unclear and probably hasn’t been decided yet but at the very least we should be able to avoid an extremely protracted release as with Mighty No. 9. We are still a longs way off from the game being done so of course anything could change.”
Sounds like a solid plan to me.
BloodStained: Ritual of the Night is scheduled for a 2017 release on PC, PlayStation 4, Vita, Wii U and Xbox One.
As long as the GAME is 100% done at release, story content beginning to end, then a staggered release of additional content is perfectly fine by me MN9's bullshit about six month delays because of the friggin' LEADERBOARD not being finished? Yeah, that is all kinds of wrong.
My interest is starting to go down, i dont like the look at all, looks really uninspired, i would prefer some good detailed 2d art, even the animations dont look that good...well maybe the gameplay will make up for it, but its not looking how i thought it would :/
I hope you guys realise that this isn't final Their last video showcased didn't even have any textures of modelling, it was just white boxes, now the world is looking like it's starting to take shape but it ain't finished.
... if six months later we see more footage and it still looks like this, I'll join ya'll, but for now? This isn't final

That looks awesome! It's like Symphony of the Night 2, same music style, the demo player even abuses the Alucard-style dash to increase movement speed It seems they're incorporating the same ability system as the DS title, Dawn of Sorrow, as you acquire souls from enemies that grant you their abilities.

Doesn't look too bad. Most of the enemies don't seem to posses a threat at all though.
That's a full on Castlevania trope right there, first level enemies are just floating heart containers
I like that, it looks good! The art still needs to improve though. I was also hoping they would go for a style closer to the first concepts, but they went for the same thing as Castlevania: Mirror of Fate. It's ok, but yeah...

Just played the demo and I thought it was good, but something felt off. Almost like the gameplay was too slow paced compared to past Igavanias. One thing they did improve over the older games is armor now shows on the character.
