I feel like bitching and asking for some advice.

So my Sony Gold Wireless Headset broke the other day. Ive had it for 6 months and I figured I would be able to get it repaired/replaced under warranty as Ive had it less than 12 months. The thing is my Dad bought it for my birthday via a company called PriceKo using Amazon UK.

The major issue I have is the headset is a US import as stated on the Amazon page.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00MML6EN2/ref=pe_385721_37038051_TE_3p_dp_1

I first contacted Sony UK who said they cannot help and told me contact Playstation UK.

So I contact Playstation UK and at first they say the headset is out of warranty due to 'consumer generated damage'.

So I reply quite annoyed that they are accusing me when I think its due to bad manufacturing but their next response is they cannot help because its a US import.

So they then provide me with a URL for a live chat to speak to Playstation US Support.

So I start the live chat and the guy refuses to help after I give him my account name as he cannot assist with issues for users with a UK account. He immediately closes the chat before I had chance to save the conversation which caused me to rage somewhat.

So I fire up another live chat mainly with the intention of obtaining a copy of the previous chat but the next guy tells me thats not possible.

So I re-explain my situation and he seems to offer some better advice and suggests I contact PriceKo, the company that sold the headsets via Amazon UK. I attempt to contact PriceKo via the delivery note e-mail my Dad received when he ordered the headset but it requests an Amazon UK login and wont accept mine.

So at the moment Im waiting for my Dad to contact PriceKo but I have a feeling it will be a waste of time.

The fact that Playstation UK cannot help because its a US import and the fact that Playstation US cannot help because I have a UK account is fucking bullshit.

I dont mind shipping to the US if I have to but there must be something I can do other than dispose of it and purchase a new one!

Here is the damage. Basically plastic snapped which was retaining some kind of pivot pin.

This is nothing I did other than take the headset off!

Here is a thread for some similar issues which confirm it must be due to bad manufacturing!

Anyone else have this headset?

The connection wire doesn't look broken, so I take it they still work?

I'd be inclined to just tape up the connection (or glue) it in place. I know its not the best solution, and means the swivel wont work, so it will be in a fixed position, but at least it will give you further use from them.

All providing you get nowhere with support of course Smile

Correct the wire is fine and they do work.

Thats a good last resort. I did tape them for a while but it wouldnt hold and came out of place. I also thought about gluing them but as you say the hinge wouldnt work.

Well as awesome as the gold headset is, it is known to be a poor build quality and breaks quite frequently.

I just purchased mine about a month ago, and this makes me nervous.... I try to be very careful with it however.
