Good to know I never played the old school IE games (well, I played Icewind Dale 2, but I never finished it), it would've been good of them to at least mention this in the in-game tutorial scrolls, seems like quite an important thing... |
It is mentioned on loading screens quite often, not sure about tutorials.

I guess the tips are chosen randomly, I've never seen that one. Tho I'm playing on an SSD, some flash by too quickly to read them...

The latest hotfix was to fix an issue with some doors not being able to be opened.

Apparently if you are level 3 when you loot the chest on the top floor of the Black Hound inn, you can get a ring (or amulet?) with +2 to all stats.
Also, while the hand/ring/neck/boot slots don't stack with each other, I think weapons stats maybe stack with them? Probably need to mess around with the crafting system and see.

I believe that weapon and shields are exempt from the rule and stats on them will stack with everything else. This seems to be so you have more choices when playing with Deflection or Accuracy bonuses.
(Imagine if the Deflection from One-handers + shield + rings just didn't stack)

Yeah I was reasonably certain that was the case, but didn't want to say outright without checking the game first. If it is, that should solve The_Leaf's problem. Buy a cheap shield or weapon, toss it in the offhand, go into the crafting window and add the appropriate stat bonus needed for the conversation check. You can add +1 or +2 bonuses via crafting, with accessories, resting bonus, and food, that should be enough to reach the desired amount.

Damn! Worth checking.
On my playthrough game gives me tons of sword and armors, but rings are really rare from drop/chests.

I don't think we can add those types of stats to weapons and shields tho.
From what I remember, shields can only be increased in quality while weapons can only be enchanted to add: quality/accuracy/damage, + elemental damage, +slaying against a specific type of enemy.
Unless we're given additional enchanting options later in the game, I don't think it's possible to enchant our weapon slots to stack stats.
It might be different if we find uniques that are already enchanted to give stats, but that's a different scenario. (And I don't really know of any)
So, we can stack stats related to fighting (mostly accuracy and deflection), but not "base" stats.

Hrm, maybe it is only armour then? There is definitely at least one that you can add stats to. I'll have to load up the game and look.

Ring of protection (+5 to all defensive stats) and cloak of protection (also +5 to all), don't stack for me.
Not really tried much with weapon stat stacking.

Yeah the ring/glove/neck/boot slots all share a common pool, so only the highest value of a single stat amongst those is used.

You can add stats to armors, yeah. I've seen +1 and +2. Sadly, since it's armor it doesn't stack with the rest.

What weapons are worth enchanting?
1) Lenovo Legion 7 (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3080 16Gb, 32Gb DDR4, SSD 1TB +2TB
2) SFFPC (streaming via Moonlight+ Sunshine)

Mostly the ones that have unique enchantments that you cannot craft.

Prioritise quality upgrades on unique weapons/armour. Quite a lot of really nice uniques are only base quality.

Heh, this post from over at RPG Codex more or less sums up my thoughts on the game's narrative, albeit with a dash of hyperbole, as is the Codex's want:
Don't read if you haven't finished the game!
Spoiler: |
Darth Roxor wrote: | The more I think about this "grand reveal" that doesn't really connect to anything in the entire game and which happens in the last 15 minutes, the more I get pissed about the missed potential.
The idea of manufacturing divine entities is actually a kinda sorta cool one. How do they work, how can they be unmade, what are they, even. But the fucking game never even gives you the slightest bit of food for thought, it's just SUDDENLY!
'BAM! THE GODS ARE NOT QUITE WOT THEY SEEM! SHUDDER AT THE THOUGHT!'
1. HOLY SHIT
2. MY GAWD
3. THE HORROR!
4. I SHUDDER!
Now if, say, the fucking plot was constructed around that AND its opposite that is only a minor side subsubsubplot that is pretty much only available to you if you travel with Durance - the unmaking of a god through the godhammer - well, now we'd be going somewhere. But it isn't.
Instead the plot is about
about
actually what is the fucking plot about anyway jesus christ |
Like I said earlier, the hint of backstory from your prior lives that you get a few brief glimpses of during soul flashbacks is far more compelling than the other 95% of the plot. It probably should have been revealed about half way through the game and delved into more deeply in the second half, instead of being crammed into the final moments leading up to the credits roll.

Even tho i don't like these "indie-ish" games, and didn't like the last Divinity, Wasteland 2 and this game really push the quality on these kickstarter games.

This is not some Kickstarter-based shit studio we are talking about. Imho, Obsidian made some of the best RPGs of the past 10 years, they have the know-how. And they completely delivered, whilst most kickstarted shits are just that: shit.

Even if every future KS project is either a con or fails to deliver, the games we've got from KS have made it worth it.

I loved the gameplay in this!
I played intensely for a few days. Looking forward to Pillars 2.
My main issue (and it isn't even a huge deal):
Loading between zones, big ones and small ones. Like entering a zone, to enter a building to enter floor 2. Talk to NPC. Leave floor 2. Leave building. Leave zone. That's a tons of loading just for a small task of talking to an NPC.
In some cases they offer you to port from the outer door to the floor you want, which is smart, but it isn't utilized enough and it could have been designed even smarter once the game knew you had explored the entirety of the building interior.
