I also think I gained a few FPS in some cases (around 10 in an area I checked). Although in that "heavy" Redcliff area I saw no significant gains, for example. |
So Mantle does actually run better on AMD cards now compared to DX11? Sweet.
Does anyone have the shiny hair problem? People on official forum are complaining about shiny hair even with hugh/ultra meshes post-patch.

I fixed it completely by disable Origin crap in-game.

Doesn't surprise me. It was tanking the framerate in Dead Space 3 for me. Had to turn it off and run it through Steam, just so we could have a text chat, because fuck, that's too hard to implement in the actual game.

Lot of people are like, bla bla bla. Knight Enchanter is the way to go.
They obviously didn't two-rift-mage comboed with Solas, with crit spec. It's called spellshower. Nice combo of passives bring down cooldown times, and Rift mage is great for keeping your mana refilled all the time. Then the spellshower of non stop fun.

It is still pretty short though ;( and icons on the minimap keep blinking while ping device is active. lol why did they do it this way?
@Radicalus
KE can solo everything on NM difficulty including dragons.. Can a rift mage do that? Nope.
Btw mana refill via rift mage passive doesn't work against certain enemies, although , yes, most of the time you won't have mana problems at all.

Apparently the new Patch breaks the 3dm "crack"
I guess that license file could easily be re-created by DENUVO masters slightly modifying the encrypted string by some type of salt.
So interesting reading into all of this.

You go to each area and do the same drill in all of them, primarily starting with closing all the rifts, gathering the shards and so on. When I first started out I collected lots of resources, but I stopped and only picked some that were close to me of the better types once I knew their attributes for crafting. I wish I didn't have to click each and every thing and look at the "gathering" animation over and over.
There's tons of filler and I too felt like I wanted to just get on with it, but I got to that point relatively late I'd say and didn't really fight myself to keep grinding, I just stopped when it felt boring and as I was pretty high level with regards to the story stuff I breezed through it.
Once I did focus on story though the story felt short; if you strip away the time I spent on side-quests collecting resources and shards.
You could say the same thing for Skyrim though. A lot of these games (open world) depend on you finding stuff on the way to lose track of time and get you to collect stuff or see every location and whatnot.

The game has no focus at all. DA was better as a directed experience, like in the first installment. This game has a lot of faults.

There's no real sense of urgency either once you see that the main story just waits until you're done with whatever.
Sure it has flaws, it also could have been ten times worse than it is.

Another charming little bug. Randomly the game doesn't allow you to switch between characters. Happened during a Rift fight. Was educational seeing the AI at work without direction.
Headless chickens have more intelligence.

http://www.dsogaming.com/news/report-latest-dragon-age-inquisition-update-breaks-visuals-on-pc-version/
Quote: | Bioware has issued an official statement and a workaround for these new bugs:
“Hey Everyone,
We’re working on getting a hot fix out for the PC graphics issue as soon as possible. In the meantime, here is a workaround you can try:
To start, make sure the quality setting you choose is equal to the setting set for Mesh Quality inside Options>Graphics
You will need to add a new command line parameter. To do this:
Through Origin:
Right click on the Dragon Age Inquisition title
Go to game properties
Type the command line parameter in the Command Line Properties box.
Through shortcut:
Right Click Shortcut
Go to Properties
Under target go to the end of the field and type the command line parameter into the box
Once there, add the following command line parameter: -ShaderSystem.ShaderQualityLevel <quality setting>
In this instance, <quality setting> should be one of the following:
Ultra
High
Medium
Low
An example of how to set your quality to high would be: -ShaderSystem.ShaderQualityLevel High
Please note that once the hot fix is out, you will need to go back in and remove this workaround from your command line.
It’s also important to note that pre-patch 2, all users on PC were being forced to use the Ultra shader quality. This means that those of you playing on lower settings will notice a decrease in quality, particularly players using low or medium settings.
To achieve the same visuals as pre-patch, users on lower settings will need to change their settings to Ultra, which should likewise be used in conjunction with Ultra mesh quality. Mismatching the mesh and shader settings will result in other visual artifacts like overly shiny hair.
Please be aware that changing settings to Ultra may impact performance on some machines.
Sorry about any frustration this may have caused.” |

I'm not sure tbh...Is it only big chests that can be save scummed this way? Emprise du Leon's chests seem to work fine, however, I tested smaller containers that can be looted in other areas and it's not randomized after reload at all.
PS Yeah it seems only chests have this loot system. I checked chests in Exalted Planes and they work too.

The problem is 90% of the content is MMO filler completely detached from the main plot. Besides a couple of minor exceptions, you could do all the story missions without even unlocking, much less setting foot in, any of the open areas. The actual story missions are all in typical Biowarian hallway levels. So there are more or less two games, neither of which has much interplay with the other. The open areas are there pretty much only to appeal to the open world (i.e. Skyrim) market.
On top of that, the narrative portion is both fairly bland and poorly developed. The whole mage/templar thing ends up going nowhere and serves no real purpose, and the main villain is entirely absent for the entire game, aside from a couple of short cameos. The villain's motivation is understandable, once you know who he is, but there's never any explanation of what will happen if his nefarious plan succeeds. Except it will be bad, probably. And then at the end
Spoiler: | you give him exactly what he wants - you send him physically into the Fade. Wasn't the whole fucking point of the game supposed to be you trying to stop that happening? They also never really explain the point of the whole Anchor business, why he needed the Divine specifically in the first place and what the ritual was actually meant to achieve had it worked. |
Edit: Saw this posted over at RPGCodex. It nicely sums up some of the major issues with the game, particularly the lacklustre ending. Massive spoilers obviously. http://johnswritersblock.com/2014/12/02/ending-dragonage-inquisition/
