Asus has very nice dual-band WIFI routers, also arent that expensive (like Asus RT-N56U).

Looks good! Anyone use/used TP-Link routers? Where I'm planning on buying, they have the TP-Link Archer C2 AC750 router. 802.11ac (even though I have nothing that supports ac, yet), 300+433 Mbps over 2.4 and 5Ghz, and external antennas.. And it's slightly cheaper too!
But maybe they're trash?
Watercooled 5950X | AORUS Master X570 | Asus RTX 3090 TUF Gaming OC | 64Gb RAM | 1Tb 970 Evo Plus + 2Tb 660p | etc etc

I'm using TP-Link, need to lookup what model it was, had no issues to speak of
several times in 2 years I had to restart it, and need to renew my IP every time my lease expires..

I'm using that one, but V1.
Either that one, or if you can, get Archer C7 V2.

TP-LINK Archer C7 all the way \o/
make sure it's V2, it has better 5GHz wifi card
V3 has better antennas, but it's only for US market afaik

mmm big difference is an inbuilt DSL modem.. not sure it's much better than C7 from what I'm seeing
if you can afford, C8 and C9 have even better wifi coverage, and usb3 port
also check this out

what distances ?
anyway, if there are a lot of walls/reinforced concrete , 5ghz will not work.
so you need to work with old 2.4 band, which is disturbed by anything form tv remote to microwave owen.
routers this days have low coverage usually, if your first router was good, i would have sugested to get a repeater.
but in your situation (if the distance to cover is big and lots of concrete walls), i would try to find a router which have a 12v 1.5 or 2a transformer. that usually means more power to antenas and signal. asus usually have those. or get a regular one and later a repeater if is still not covering.
