Stay hidden and only shoot orcs that get marked with some yellow circle or whatever.
That's what I've done on those, anyway.

Finally unlocked that ranged stealth insta-kill thing.
I have a rune that gives me more arrows on pretty much any kill anyways.
I'm purposely unslotting said rune because the combo is so OP it kills the fun.

It's fun, I'll probably finish it playing 1-2 hours here and there, but you're basically doing the same thing too much. It lacks variety. That'd be fine if there were other things to support the combat, but I can't find anything above average other than good combat in this game.

Completed it last night. Took me about 12.5 hours. I didn't bother with much else beside the main missions. I did do a bunch of power struggles to unlock all tiers of abilities but that's about it. Really good game men.

Played for a couple of hours... a bit underwhelming to be honest, especially considering all the glowing reviews. Seems extremely repetitive, all you do is press X and occasionally Y when the prompt pops up. And the scenery is very bleak and repetitive as well (rocks, ruins, camps, repeat).
I don't know... it feels like a poor man's Assassin's Creed: same basic concept but with blander scenery, less interesting exploration, clunkier controls and less precise stealth mechanics.

How can you have less precise stealth mecahnics than AssCreed? |
Well, I'm not really a big AC fan to be honest, but in there at least you have a few options: sneaking, hiding in crowds, distractions, grabbing from ledges, hidden blade, etc... here "stealth" seems to consist only of sneaking behind someone. But again, I've only played a few hours, maybe it becomes better after unlocking more skills from the skill tree.

that's how it usually works and at least there is a sneak button where you actually control your crouching, unlike in any of the ac so far, besides you can hide in the bushes, behind corners and take the higher ground
hiding in the crowd worked in AC1 where you wear same pyjamas as those monks or whatever, later in games it looked kind of stupid, guy with the full blown armor and sword was as invisible as an elephant in the room

later you get 4 different combo attacks, which you can chain together, again people talk shit about something they never really played, oh well

I found the perfect solution to the frustration in this game, if you die, instead of waiting for the captains to level up and get harder, press ALT + F4 as soon as you're down.
They can fuck themselves with this 3+ captains at once bullshit + an army of orcs
ain't nobody got time for that

But that's no fun, you cut out one of the few original gameplay mechanics this games has. It's like those people that play Dark Souls with automated save backuppers, it's basically cheating.

As I pointed out in my post, I admit that I've only played a couple of hours and I concede that it may become more interesting later, so I'm not judging the entire game, it was just my first impression.

It's a matter of time. Just how many times do I have to kill a fucking captain for him to stay fucking dead? if anyone's cheating it's the damn game.

That one?

There was a "eye" icon on one of the missions which lead to a battle with a fairly strong orc whom dropped a epic rune on death, maybe you did it without thinking of it's name since it's very similar to the other "power" based missions.
EDIT: Might be easier to say this instead, it's a fat orc in bright red armor with a huge iron shield, at that point in the game those guys hadn't been introduced yet (If I remember correctly, I know I got to it very early on.) so it was a interesting experience.
(Was also my first experience with "Immune to ranged." which annoyed me greatly.)

Been playing for 2-3 hours. On high preset + high textures and camera only motion blur. (motion blur setting is bugged and dont work at all when its on object+camera setting). Setting down the page are also all checked. Generally only shadows and ao are on medium/high.
Also. Managed to get sweetfx smaa to work. You need Boulotaur 1.51 sweetfx for 64bit. Sweetfx just works then but NOT IN BORDERLESS. Game have to be in fullscreen. I am using it just for ultra smaa anyway and it helps a little. Game is not aliased too much even without it, but smaa removes what's left mostly
Also, vsync now seems working great for me. no drops to 30 or anything.
Generally I am getting constant 60 with no stutter whatsoever. Game drops to 50 at its worst moments. No idea why the game was running 20fps when I first launched it....
So, the game. Not far yet. Seems well done and looks pretty nice (not great tho. shading is nice but the game is just kinda dull looking... I guess it's just Mordor environement). The strenght is in detail and characters which look damn fantastic.
The nemesis system is pretty cool and combat is just very satysfing. And it's one of few games in which stealth feels very rewarding. Liking it so far. kinda feels like 8/10 game but it's still proboably among best games this year

Sneaking from behind is so OP that you basically don't need anything else, you press a button.. and the awesome happens!
You can actually grab them orcs from ledges here as well though, and Shift+G works as directional distraction which can be pretty useful. Headshots with arrows are pretty handy if you do it unnoticed (since you can't drag bodies). The thing is, even with the "ghost" upgrades that you get later it still feels very simplistic indeed, but that's a problem with...the whole genre of third person action games with stealth-ish elements.

Played this for 10+ hours or so. Doing some side stuff, captain hunting etc. Game is fun, combat and sthealth is somewhat being mediocre, I think stealth could've been implemented better. I mean larger view range on enemies could've made it harder and in my experience more entertaining. Combat is fine as it is but getting powerfull runes and new abilites makes it piss easy on the later parts of the game. Where the developers had to actually trow AN ENTIRE ORC ARMY at your face to make it challenging. Although you can always avoid large combats with more clever approches. Like stalking the warchief and waiting for him to get to a less populated place and clearing/distracting any orcs nearby. That's the easy solution for a quick "kill and get da fuck away from the area". And I can actually dominate etc. rather easly this way.
So anyway it got quickly boring and less interesting as I slain more warchiefs... Always the same. Story missions suck balls, and storytelling doesn't justify it either. It got from "OMG THIS IS FUN" to "meh, I don't want to even open it" pretty quick. It's just what I was expecting from this game before release. No more no less. But I'm gonna finish it just for curiosity's sake.
