Guess it was.. an offer that you couldn't refuse xD
Congrats, I've never experienced it, but it's something that I would do, despite my aversion to anything christianity-related. Razz

I think that as long as you're baptized, you should be good to go.
The canon also likely requires you to "live in conformity with the teachings of the church" (or something like that): just answer "yes I do" (LaughingReaction ) and everything will be fine.

being a godfather isn't anything religious or christian. They maybe made it out to, but it isn't. The kid isn't baptized to begin with and the parent's are atheists.

Don't have to be baptised to be a God-father in all cases, only catholic (and even then, not always)

yeah, godfather basically means, if the parents die, you'll take care of the child. Like a fail safe.

christians just directly added it to their baptizing ritual.

It's like marriage. You don't need a priest or something for that either Smile

Kind of, although the origins of "God" parents actually came from Christianity... Wink as in, to raise the child in the eyes of God.

The whole looking after the child thing is somewhat of a modern day add on Smile

Well religion evolves as well, just way slower than society.

I'm a godfather too, baptized and all, just never saw the need to officially renounce the church Just stupid tradition in my family, none of them are religious. Smile

Anywho.... Congrats Sin! It's a nice feeling to be a godfather! Very Happy
