Episode gaming? Confused I hope this is not some new trend.

People sure know to exaggerate ... it's split in two halves. Calling it episodic is stretching it a bit - it's like calling Lord of the Rings episodic Rolling Eyes

"Episodes" are for series of releases - for two parts, they call it ... prepare to be blown away ... part 1 & 2 also called a "two-parter". Parts =/= episodes.

Even Revolution should have known better than to call it episodes because people immediate think it will be released across half a dozen parts and some of the responses I've read across forums prove my point all too well - especially with people like Drowning_witch exagerating and getting people confused by comparing it to soap operas Rolling Eyes

Bah. I hate episodic content.

The game teases all the occult stuff and cuts the game just as you're about to start investigating it.

Bullshit...

erm, ending with cliffhanger while being called part 1? Sounds like an episode of Marisol to me Laughing

Kidding aside, as I said, I just prefer to get all the content at once.
The cliffhanger effect that is a byproduct of monetization of television is something
I prefer to avoid in games, so I vote with my wallet, no one is stopping you from doing the same if you enjoy it.

Oh, if people are properly informed I have no beef - but I've seen too many people on forums thinking there will be several episodes while the truth is that the game was just chopped in half. And two-parters always have a cliffhanger Wink . Episodes, however, often don't.

I'm at the start and it feels cheap. The dialogues are tedious and unfunny (when trying to be funny) while there are no puzzles to really talk about.

I sure hope it gets better.

I think people need to compare it to the older games. In Broken Sword 1, you had virtually no puzzles at first either - BS was always very dialogue focused. At least half the puzzles involved asking the right people the right questions and cross examining.

The funny part is subjective, really. BS1 had very similar comedy although I felt it was a little more flamboyant in general. I quite enjoyed the café owner as a character in BS5 and Moue was as silly as always.

I think too many people expect the game something Broken Sword never was - it was never an object hunting game. Its puzzles were never of the "combine cat with washing machine" type and its comedy was never slapstick funny. It used dry wit and I feel it does that properly although there's less dialogue and, as a result, less room for silly side remarks.

Finally.

To those who played it: Is the ending bearable? Does part 1 have a proper conclusion of its own, or just a stupid cliffhanger?

Must be fake?
Or maybe labeled wrong as ep.2 instead of 1?

Revolution Software said that the EP2 was delayed until sometime in March. No info about a future release on the forum or on any other official places.

just say the first one had beta assets Laughing imagine pixaleted fuck and blurred to the max textures ... simple put they released the PC version with Tablet assets

go back to page 4 of this topic to see how horrible it looked ... they repaired all of theirs own mistakes in this version , no more floating legs , all assets are ultra sharp , no more fucked up background continuation... they fixed all bugs , heck even those stiff animations ... now thats what i call dedication

Anyone getting crashes with Broken.Sword.5.The.Serpents.Curse.Episode.2.REPACK-FLT ?

I loaded up a savegame from the end of episode 1 and George and Nico goes out on the roof of the burning building. When They say "we go to spain!" and the screen fades to black, the game crashes. So game stopping bug for me, or maybe bad crack?

Nope, works fine here. Did you do a fresh installation? Installing over the old one when the 1080p patch came out resulted in some strange bugs, maybe that's the case here.
