"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Me too Razz (well, used to be), then somehow I quit reading books completely, cold turkey style. I blame having read too much stuff in the past, and the uni times didn't help either.
So now I am enjoying my beloved status of full aware derp, only excited by virtual shiny moving things and talking people. Feels quite good to be honest, can't say I regret the decision grinhurt

The audio books can be a very good alternative for those books that are really massive.

(Huge Spoilers!) Game of Thrones Season 4 Trailer: Introducing the New Characters

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

I love how the surviving Starks are all interesting in their own way, with a specific characteristic each of them that makes them different from the other siblings. I would say Sansa is the boring one of the lot, but maybe the books have something more interesting in the future for her.

In the books she's built up to something awesome (I hope so at least), hence the potential part.

The budget for this show is insane compared to most TV shows. And since when has HBO ever been in the market of cutting costs for profit? Sure you arent talking about AMC? No reason to spoiler what you said, too.

yep, if anything, the first season had the lowest budget, when you take a look at some of the most expensive episodes later on, for example blackwater bay which cost much more than half of s01s total budget.

Content is cut because the later books have more useless content for TV.

Can you give us please, an example of cut content that is useless for TV?
Because in my view, the content that cut was rather expensive to be solid created, than useless.

What content are you missing? Not everything in a book can be converted to TV because it would be impossible technically or because it wouldn't be useful to the story they are telling. This is an opinion of course, I'm not a producer.
