not so nice, 1) too late 2) pricey and 3) no big improvements, 7800GTX wins.

btw, i'm pretty confident that ati's new flagship is a well balanced card but to declare it a 7800 killer is far from true- Imho it comes far too late and is faaaaar from pricey atm. To be honest i expected a "bit" more. Maybe it would have been better for ati to skip the r520, wait 3 month and launch the shortly upcoming r580 instead. 3 month more waiting wouldn't be much considering the fact that the gaming community waited so long for the r520 to be released.
In fact it is frustrating to watch nvidia and ati release a new top notch $550 card twice a year...

have a look at the upper wall and the textures there- you will notice that something's really wrong about that screenshot- noone has to be an expert to see that, right? The screenshot was obviously manipulated. Turn off the texture optimizations in the driver settings and you will see that the image quality is the same compared to x850 with the new nvidia driver. In fact the AF of the new 7800 series was worse using earlier 7800 certified driver compared to e.g. the 6800 but the card has enough power to display every upcoming game using at least 4x TSAA without great performance losses and it looks just great Right, the new graphics mode is no excuse for the relatively poor af quality but maybe a future driver comes with angle- independent AF who knows?!? I think there will be a surprise because it is proven that the g70 can do alot better. ( They used an old driver which doesn't support the card but it worked flawlessly).
It remains to be seen who will be on the top, let's wait for real frame-marks and ingame quality comparison when the x1800 is out. Btw, my 7800 gtx runs 510+40 = 550 mhz and i'm fairly convinced that regarding the PS fillrate it will be very difficult for ati to beat the pixel performance of the 7800 gtx with just 16 pipes. 1800XT is fairly at its max when it comes to core frequency of 625mhz (strong cooling solution will be advised when attempting any overclocking) and the power consumption seems to be insanely high. But let's just wait, sure there is much more we will know when the card comes out in november.
P.s.: the xbox does look great, but i never owned any console and i think i'll stay with pc's

Nintendo Revoultions...Big ups on the controller, clear winner...total lack of power

The xbox controller is the best one i´ve ever used, so i have no problem with the 360 one being very similar.
And Xbox360 will support Xbox games, atleast o i´ve heard numerous times.
Watercooled 5950X | AORUS Master X570 | Asus RTX 3090 TUF Gaming OC | 64Gb RAM | 1Tb 970 Evo Plus + 2Tb 660p | etc etc

the X-box s was nice but my fav. controller is the gamecube. Playing that for hours is perfect. with the PS2 I find my hands slippin all over.
The xbox 360 is new..... the black and white buttons are now triggers on the back ala dreamcast and the 'logo' in the middle is used for connectin to xbox live.
neway back to the games.... even if those screenshots are realy it's taken on a 7800GT. it's hardly a fair contest.

The PS3 controller is just a concept controller for now. My fav controller would be the Xbox S controller with 4 triggers, which the Xbox 360 seems to be : ). I am for sure getting a PS3, and maybe Xbox 360. All depends on PES5, and if there is some fun multi player game for the xmas break to test.
