Haven't seen anything like that. I had only one issue - horrible and really funny pop-in during the intro (when camera shows different parts of the map). After that everything is perfect.
Today I didn't even need to use my AK. I gotta say it was a good day. (c) - Ice Cube
Gotcha, they also updated the post with this video to show exactly how everything is affected. Guess I'll be uninstalling the 2nd disk when I get home, I hope this wont make the loading times much longer...

I'm guessing on the ps3 it's better to have the game on external drive too. Then you have 2 drives working in tandem, the way it's supposed to be.
That's how I've been running it anyway. The 8gb install only took a couple minutes too, way faster than the benq in my Xbox managed, that was more like ten minutes.

Never had that outside of the intro. I suppose that's the only moment with the issue because different zones are switched instantly. When you play the game your current zone is fully loaded or streamed seamlessly.

Well good to hear that need to update my 360 and off i go someone runs it on 16197? i'm not in a mood to update my RGH.
The way I see it, any game that has an install should have the "disc image" kept off the internal drive. Naturally this doesn't affect legit PS3 gamers since the discs are physical and not running from internal HDD.
360 has a bit more texture space than the PS3, which also makes sense due to its unified memory. Overall the PS3 is more oriented towards executing things on the CPU than the 360 - again, makes perfect sense, looking at the hardware.
And judging from the way some other things are balanced, it would seem that the PS3 will suffer from pop-in a bit more; they've dedicated more resources to streaming and rendering on that one, which also makes sense due to the more limited memory setup in the PS3
Looking forward to the DF comparison to see whether their findings match what's in this config file
I know its nitpicking, but it would be awesome if there actually where people on the busses. Seeing them walking on and off would be an amazing detail
I could swear there are people on the buses. I even saw some guy walking to his seat while the buss was going through traffic.
Unless I'm loosing my fucking mind and made it up in my head, from way too much GTA V over the weekend. Didn't even answer my phone over the weekend; I wonder if I still have a job.
Regarding the DVD install thing, I'll take 1 sec popups over that noisy DVD chewer any day.
do you need to be jtagged to be able to install gta 5 to a flash drive or external hdd (disk 2 )? if not what is better external hdd or flash drive ? for performance
