Heh, well as it is in this game you can't even loot the credit cards or such of fallen foes so money is usually difficult to acquire for stuff like body armor, weapons (No need for ammo in the game though.) and supplies.

Since they went so far as to explain the way the process works I kinda thought I would have the opportunity to strip down corpses and sell everything I could scavenge.
(There could even be skill checks so you don't damage the cybernetic hardware as you extract it from the dead bodies or so you can access the information in it yourself.)

Lots of potential with a game like this, lots of potential for modders too which will be really fun to see in these coming months since the included editor is pretty capable. Smile

EDIT: I don't know the mechanics very well though, for example I started as a Dwarf since I assumed it would make it possible to boost weapon skills and such but it turns out trolls have the best physical capabilities and elves are the most skilled though both of them have other drawbacks like the low intelligence threshold (6) for trolls.
(My Dwarf is getting nice comments from many of the ladies I've met so far however so it evens out a bit, ha ha maybe because he has so many body points but I don't know if it means he's looking fit or if he's a bit like a sumo by now.)

It took all of two days before modders put out POC for persistent corpses and looting, I have no doubt these will be staples of upcoming Campaigns and Runs.

I can't wait to see what people will manage to do with the editor. It seems incredibly powerful and versatile.

Not that surprise me particularly.

It's Capacity, how many rounds before reloading, no?

You're right! Thx.

It's a fun little time-waster. It could have been so much better though. We'll see what they do with it in the future I guess.

For now I hunker down and wait for Wasteland 2. Smile

It seems like melee is fairly pointless at the moment, the damage output is far too low considering you have to be one square away from the enemy (thus giving them an easy 99% chance of hit, unless you really stack your DODGE skill) -- whereas there doesn't seem to be any real downside to firearms. I figured I'd run a melee-focused Decker but the points I've sunk into melee seem wasted, when it all it took was putting 1 point into "shotgun" to treble/quadruple my damage output per hit.

I guess melee is only worthwhile as a last resort, even Sams are better off as ranged attackers unless you really spec for disabilities like "disarm" Sad

Yeah, I've specced my street samurai to handle melee weapons. It's great if I have a buffer who can give my samurai extra AP's where's she can then run in and stun one or two targets but then again firearms seem to be much better at this point since just slicing does not do much more damage than a rifle. Sad

OK, I'm trying to play as a shaman and I feel kinda confused.

Will I get perma summoning spells at all? It is just I can't shoot shit lol and I don't have any attacking perma spells atm , I only got haste+slow ( I checked the shop and bought 3 consumable summoning spells but haven't found anything yet that had perma status) I have a feeling I should have tried a mage Laughing At least they got perma spells I can do burn baby burn with ;P

PS is there any spell list available?

Another annoyance. It doesn't always save the settings. Resets the music volume to max. Checks the double-click box.

And why can't I add any cyberware to my character??

hm, so i started anew to manually set karma.. er..

am i limited to 2 actions points per turn (per character) the whole game ?

Because it seems the game is not very flexible class wise - my idea was to have a techheavy character who can shoot and hack a bit but with heavy focus on drones xD But i just read that each drone removes 1 ap... so yeah.. 2 drones = character that doesn't do anything but sits there..

edit: oh, nice, thanks

No, early on you get a boost that adds a third action, and there's probably one or two more before the game is over.

Melee is awesome when there's groups of enemies (use cleave), I had axe, decent quickness, cast haste on my troll and did 4 attacks / round. I can do around 100 damage in 4 rounds (critting at 32 at best). For single opponents it's a bit better with a gun or magic though. But melee is really good if you use it right.

This game has to be looked on a little different. Basically what HBS has done is created an RPG "base", with the rulesets and skills etc. + an editor. I think if they had called it "Shadowrun Creation Kit with a bonus campaign" to get things started, or something - people would better understand what this is. This is a title that will earn its keep over time.

Yes. It kinda is.

I've already bypassed it by always playing to the next checkpoint (which pretty much always is when you transition from one area to the next). In a way this is good, as it keeps people from just cheating their way through the encounters, but in so many ways it is wrong.

There's a 100+ hours campaign in the making with people like Opifer on the team:

Probably you recognize yourself in his description.

He didn't offend direct someone in particular, but if the cap fits, wear it.
