How do you open locked crates in this? Looks like you may need certain objects, but there's no feedback from the game when you click unlock chest.
Oh yeh, also makes my 670 run at 99.99% usage...feeling hot, hot, hot!

Quick update, guys: We were just as surprised as you that the game released today. We found out literally hours before you. This is not Steam's fault, but our own. We're treading in new waters that we could barely imagine being in only a handful of months ago.
For those of you who backed us on Kickstarter or Pre-ordered go to https://www.humblebundle.com/store/keyresender
For those of you who are waiting for a completely DRM free method, we're waiting for GoG's approval and we will let you know the -second- we hear an update.
Seriously guys, we're sorry if we've caused any confusion and anger. We want -nothing- more than to please you who have made us so proud and happy to have you as our fans.

Framerate limit won't help, game is just very GPU heavy at the moment (Early release so maybe it's just not optimized yet?) I also reach pretty high GPU temperatures though it's still manageable albeit it's rare for it to reach 70+ degrees.
Altering the settings didn't make as much of a different as I thought it would either, interesting.
(Shadows definitively incur a steep performance hit however, wouldn't have thought so from how they look and how the game looks overall.)

I played this for about 1.5 hours today. I think it is getting a little worse beating than it deserves. The control is no worse than NeverWinter Nights was with wasd control. It doesn't bother me at all.
Sure it feels a little wonky with the animations and all, but it IS an indy title.
It feels like there is a lot of depth lurking under the surface here and I get a strong rogue like feeling mixed with ARPG with it. Not a bad thing to me.
I am going to continue playing it and see what happens. I am not disappointed at the lack of hand holding.

Someone posted this on Steam forums... and its oh so true and a pretty good read:
Ballsaque 4 hours ago
Oh, those people on their high horses...
OK, LoD is a horrible game. I think we can all agree on that right? Mediocre and choppy graphics, with bad optimalisation to boot (GPU ready for lift off...). Voice overs that give me the trots, bad gameplay, worse combat, tons of bugs...
Now SOME people mounted their high horse because this game is supposed to be "old school". Main reason is that the quests aren't shown on the map or compass or something like that like in most modern RPGs. For them, that reason alone seems to be enough to make this game GODLIKE, and tell other people off.
Here is an example from a notorious fellow called Archangel (how original...) from the Kickstarter forum:
After playing the game for 3h I am enjoying it, even with all its problems. If the problems would be fixed the game would be really good. I am really enjoying old school feel of the game (lack of marks for quest givers, lack of quest markers, the game does not guide you like you are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ but asks you to use your brain). Combat is challenging enough, I used up all my healing items in first dungeon I visited
Yes, you are a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ if you need quest markers! Winners with high IQ don't need those, they prefer the "old school" way! Perfect for a sense of self importance and delisions of grandeur! Even if it's most likely that they never actually lived those good old days...
Please, comparing a game like this with the likes of the Baldur's Gate games or Planescape: Torment is just an insult to those classics. If you get on your high horse because of this game, you are just making a fool out of yourselves.
Did I just nerdrage???

I don't understand how these people can function when they can't even read quest directions. Their attention spans must be even worse than mine.

omg, the popin, entire fackin buildings when you are a few feet away from them...so glad I decided to isodemo this before parting with cash, not a fan of wasd in this type of game either, but some are....possibly a decent game in there somewhere, but I think you would have to dedicate yourself to the game to actually get anything from it- it looks like a cheap clunky copy of sacred 2, but without the instant charm
when there is no more room in hell, the D34D will walk the earth

Latest Update Regarding Recent & Future Patches & More!
Postby Seth » Sun Jun 30, 2013 2:42 am
UPDATE – STEAMED PASSION
What an unbelievable experience! Today was a virtual whirlwind where we unfortunately made a series of moves that have angered Kickstarter backers, but also gave us the great success of the first day of the sale that exceeded our expectations.
The passion and heat on Steam forum are rarely seen. Every day thousands of new users join Legends Of Dawn and it's exciting to follow up.
There are a lot of gamers busy playing and enjoying the game and those who have problems are very vocal, which is perfectly fine when it help us find and fix problems.
To those who expressed doubts or worries if we'll support our customers and improve the game the answer is clear - Yes we will, it's all we will do and will continue to do.
We'll address most important issues ASAP and then add desired features to the wish list.
LoD community is rapidly growing and we are monitoring what you are saying and we try to read everything.
Let's address a few implemented improvements:
We have uploaded another patch to Steam server (v1.02). Regarding players getting stuck - we have added Regenerate action to Options -> Controls panel. Now you can configure a key that teleports you to the last respawn point. We have also fixed small translation bug in non-English languages.
The autosave feature is also implemented. You can choose a time interval for auto-saving (never, 10 minutes, 20 minutes or 30 minutes). Autosaved game always takes one slot in the save game list and new autosaves are overwritten over the old one.
We have also implemented a QuickSave action. A large number of players requested this feature so that they do not have to activate Options -> Save Game panel each time they want to save the game. QuickSave simply creates new save game called QuickSave each time you press the QuickSave key.
You can bind this action to any key, just as you do with other actions.
Speaking of keys - we fixed two bugs regarding key configuration. The first bug was that custom key bindings did not work until player activated the Options panel for the first time. The second bug was that camera rotations using keys did not work. Both of these should work fine now.
Also fixed is sliding after manual respawn if player pressed respawn key while moving around.
Brown screen bug - for some reason, some configurations seem not to have NVidia physics system software or its latest version. Legends of Dawn uses NVidia PhysX to move all game objects. If PhysX libraries are not installed, game will start with black background. We are still investigating why this bug happens since PhysX should be installed with the game. In the meantime you can install the PhysX directly from NViadia site at http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.12 ... river.html
Don't forget to reboot your computer.
Next on our list are few assignments regarding movement. We plan to implement left+right mouse key movement forward, and then movement using point'n'click method - that player's character will move by clicking on the location he/she wishes to go. The camera will be improved too.
Some PC configurations don't perform well although in many cases weaker configurations when set up properly will work well. Streaming engine sits heavily on your computer resources so if the configuration is bloated or weak you'll experience low FPS. We'll continue to optimize the engine.
Huge thanks to all who try to offer information in constructive and inspired way.
Huge thanks also to our friend at Humble store and we are very sorry for every inconvenience you stumbled upon in trying to acquire your keys.
Humble Bundle is handling you Steam keys and they will provide with access to DRM Free version as soon as they set it up (we already sent them the master). Later they will deliver other digital goodies as we prepare them.
Unfortunately some PayPal and KS backers still did not get keys so let 's go through steps once again:
a) go to the https://www.humblebundle.com/store/keyresender
b) enter EXACTLY THE SAME email you backed with on Kickstarter or exact email used to donate with Paypal
c) in case you have problems please contact HumbleBundle support http://support.humblebundle.com/
d) if you still have problems contact us directly at support@dreamatrix.net
As you possibly noticed, Steam has $15.99 one week promotional price for LOD, after that it will be 19.99. We thought that $15 promotional price for digital download for Kickstarter backers is appropriate. However publishers consistently suggested lower than planned retail price and we listened. In the light of new circumstances we would like to give some additional reward to our backers who helped us so much. We are still thinking what exactly that will be, but it will come in a form of additional download. Thank you once again for your help!
Help us improve the game.
a) If you stumble upon critical bug that wasn't already mentioned several times please send us the log file which can be found typically (but not necessarily)
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Legends of Dawn\logs\game_lod.htm
or for non steam version
C:\Program Files\Dreamatrix\Legends of Dawn\logs\game_lod.htm
Note that every new start overwrites the previous log. You can send log files to support@dreamatrix.net
b) If you have suggestion that wasn't well covered before, start a new thread with appropriate name and let's see how others feel about your suggestion
c) Let us know also what you like – it’s inspiring and it shows us where we hit the right direction
Thanks for helping and for being passionate about what you want in and from Legends of Dawn

Are they ever going to iron out the performance issues?!?
I mean I haven't read any notes that says anything about them fixing performance so your graphics card isn't overheating the whole time.

I don't know... I'm interested if there's any release of the non-Steam version around. That would be much easier.

I have the Prophet copy v1.07s, is there any new patches since then that actually fix the basic mechanics of the game?
1.Quest markers
2.Tool tips on inventory items to actually know what effect/crafting etc they have. Even if I have to eat or drink it first, at least then have a tool tip to say what the fuc* it is!
3.Some way of actually knowing if you have actually completed/killed a quest target (ie: The tiny white spider quest)
4.Opening chest with runes, it's impossible to see which rune you need as they glow to such an extent you cannot see if you have the correct one in your inventory.
5.Combat!
I could go on (and on and on), I tried and tried to like this game (6 hrs in so far) but it's so awful. It's like an aimless drunken stroll in the woods with no goal or any idea what is happening, or where to go next. I get the exploration idea of the game but it's taken to new levels in this atrocity.
Please someone tell me its now patched to fix the most fundamental problems as I would like to part with my hard earned cash and support the devs.
