How do you open locked crates in this? Looks like you may need certain objects, but there's no feedback from the game when you click unlock chest.

Oh yeh, also makes my 670 run at 99.99% usage...feeling hot, hot, hot!

Quick update, guys: We were just as surprised as you that the game released today. We found out literally hours before you. This is not Steam's fault, but our own. We're treading in new waters that we could barely imagine being in only a handful of months ago.

For those of you who backed us on Kickstarter or Pre-ordered go to https://www.humblebundle.com/store/keyresender

For those of you who are waiting for a completely DRM free method, we're waiting for GoG's approval and we will let you know the -second- we hear an update.

Seriously guys, we're sorry if we've caused any confusion and anger. We want -nothing- more than to please you who have made us so proud and happy to have you as our fans.

Framerate limit won't help, game is just very GPU heavy at the moment (Early release so maybe it's just not optimized yet?) I also reach pretty high GPU temperatures though it's still manageable albeit it's rare for it to reach 70+ degrees.

Altering the settings didn't make as much of a different as I thought it would either, interesting.
(Shadows definitively incur a steep performance hit however, wouldn't have thought so from how they look and how the game looks overall.)

I played this for about 1.5 hours today. I think it is getting a little worse beating than it deserves. The control is no worse than NeverWinter Nights was with wasd control. It doesn't bother me at all.
Sure it feels a little wonky with the animations and all, but it IS an indy title.

It feels like there is a lot of depth lurking under the surface here and I get a strong rogue like feeling mixed with ARPG with it. Not a bad thing to me.

I am going to continue playing it and see what happens. I am not disappointed at the lack of hand holding.

Someone posted this on Steam forums... and its oh so true and a pretty good read:

Ballsaque 4 hours ago
Oh, those people on their high horses...
OK, LoD is a horrible game. I think we can all agree on that right? Mediocre and choppy graphics, with bad optimalisation to boot (GPU ready for lift off...). Voice overs that give me the trots, bad gameplay, worse combat, tons of bugs...

Now SOME people mounted their high horse because this game is supposed to be "old school". Main reason is that the quests aren't shown on the map or compass or something like that like in most modern RPGs. For them, that reason alone seems to be enough to make this game GODLIKE, and tell other people off.

Here is an example from a notorious fellow called Archangel (how original...) from the Kickstarter forum:

After playing the game for 3h I am enjoying it, even with all its problems. If the problems would be fixed the game would be really good. I am really enjoying old school feel of the game (lack of marks for quest givers, lack of quest markers, the game does not guide you like you are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ but asks you to use your brain). Combat is challenging enough, I used up all my healing items in first dungeon I visited Smile

Yes, you are a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ if you need quest markers! Winners with high IQ don't need those, they prefer the "old school" way! Perfect for a sense of self importance and delisions of grandeur! Even if it's most likely that they never actually lived those good old days...

Please, comparing a game like this with the likes of the Baldur's Gate games or Planescape: Torment is just an insult to those classics. If you get on your high horse because of this game, you are just making a fool out of yourselves.

Did I just nerdrage???

I don't understand how these people can function when they can't even read quest directions. Their attention spans must be even worse than mine.

omg, the popin, entire fackin buildings when you are a few feet away from them...so glad I decided to isodemo this before parting with cash, not a fan of wasd in this type of game either, but some are....possibly a decent game in there somewhere, but I think you would have to dedicate yourself to the game to actually get anything from it- it looks like a cheap clunky copy of sacred 2, but without the instant charm

Yeah, the entire inn was gone for me except the windows and doors. Laughing

If you have no other RPG(or nothing at all) to play, it could be worth it, but you'd be better off (re)playing one of the gazillion awesome RPGs from yesteryears.

In any case, I'd wait for a few patches.

LATEST PATCH NOTES:

We have uploaded small patch to steam server. It should be active soon.
Regarding players getting stuck - we have added Regenerate action to Options -> Controls panel. Now you can configure key that teleports you to the last respawn point. We have also fixed small translation bug in non-English languages.

Next on the list is autosave feature. We'll inform you as soon as it is finished (most likely within few hours).

Are they ever going to iron out the performance issues?!?
I mean I haven't read any notes that says anything about them fixing performance so your graphics card isn't overheating the whole time.

The game is at version 1.04s now, shadows are still very taxing but the game runs fine with those disabled. Smile
(Probably also works if you lower the shadow details or change it so only either static objects or dynamic objects are shadowed, not both.)

Okay thanks JBeckman, didn't know if they had done any improvements or not in that regard.
I'll probably wait for a few more updates before trying to get into it again.

I have the Prophet copy v1.07s, is there any new patches since then that actually fix the basic mechanics of the game?

1.Quest markers
2.Tool tips on inventory items to actually know what effect/crafting etc they have. Even if I have to eat or drink it first, at least then have a tool tip to say what the fuc* it is!
3.Some way of actually knowing if you have actually completed/killed a quest target (ie: The tiny white spider quest)
4.Opening chest with runes, it's impossible to see which rune you need as they glow to such an extent you cannot see if you have the correct one in your inventory.
5.Combat!

I could go on (and on and on), I tried and tried to like this game (6 hrs in so far) but it's so awful. It's like an aimless drunken stroll in the woods with no goal or any idea what is happening, or where to go next. I get the exploration idea of the game but it's taken to new levels in this atrocity.

Please someone tell me its now patched to fix the most fundamental problems as I would like to part with my hard earned cash and support the devs.
