If this does get released with everything sabin quoted missing no one will trust them again if they try and do another kickstarter.

It's their reputation on the line and if the fans don't like it they won't get another shot at something else.

I did back the game and I expect a fun and challenging Shadowrun game if not they can kiss my ass for more money and don't even think about bringing out extra DLC if they can't get the base game right Smile

WTF, no loot????

Added to this all the rest of the axed features means that I've just lost complete interest in this game. I was gonna pirate it anyway, but after this... it's not even worth the bandwidth.

This doesn't affect me, since I not only love Steam but I backed the Kickstarter, however; only the base game and Berlin are available as DRM-free releases due to licensing restrictions with Microsoft (that still own FASA and all their IPs) and those are only available to backers, the DRM-free versions won't be sold on their site. All subsequent DLC, such as tilesets and other campaigns outside of Berlin, will be Steam only ---- and even then Berlin is only available for free to those that backed the campaign when it was out or preordered at the $75 level from their site.

Getting a refund might have been a bit hasty, especially so close to release date, but I honestly don't blame you if you did.

On a happier note; the early-access Editor has now been sent to applicable backers. There's no NDA either, according to comments on KS, so we should be seeing a lot of creation videos soon enough --- and hopefully some nicely fleshed-out campaigns ready and waiting for when the game launches.

"No loot because the game doesnt have an inventory", is that correct (i read it on the KS comments page)? I mean that's just... i dont know what to say. Sad

I'm not the least interested in playing a RPG with no inventory. Inventory and loot is at least 40% of the game experience for me in an RPG. No inventory also means no stores i guess?

Unless it's horribly done like in Mass Effect 1. I could have enjoyed the game even more without that awful implementation.

Then again, I don't know how good/bad it was in the original Shadowrun back in the 90's.

I didnt care much for ME, at all. KOTOR was just so much ahead of it, except for graphics.

I agree. I only played KOTOR1 a couple of months ago for the first time and it instantly entered my top 10 games ever.

Indeed. I'm lousy at finishing games, i complete 2-3 out of 100 games. But i'm currently replaying (and doing a graphical overhaul) for KOTOR, this is my third or fourth playthrough and its still great.

lol @ no inventory... funnily enough, it seems this is the only RPG I backed that I didn't get the physical edition of.

I never pledge the higher tiers for KS games, it seems too risky. lol @ people doing the $100 and over tiers for this game Razz must feel good..

I didn't back the game (wasn't paying attention at the time). I paid $18 for the Steam pre-order and I think i'll get my money's worth despite all the mentioned problems Razz

That's freaking amazing! Do you have any ETA at all? KOTOR with improved graphics would be simply incredible...

Not really, it depends on how much i'm gonna do, there's no real plan, just playing and then retexturing the things that i think stands out like a sore thumb Wink

Well keep up with the good work then. I'm a fan of your overhauls, top-quality stuff. Very Happy

As for the game, the lack of all those features curbed my enthusiasm a lot...no customization and loot, limited inventory and editing, checkpoints, obligatory markers..what the hell.

I don't know, not having an inventory might not be THAT bad. It always bugged me how loot basically turned your character into a pack mule since no inventory implementation I can recall ever really restricted you to what you might reasonably carry while still being able to, well, move.

What problems did you have? I only needed to apply the proper WS fix plus a crack on top of the Steam install and it all went off smoothly.

http://www.shadowrun.com/forums/categories/srr-early-access-level-editor-for-gm

The forums are back online and it seems like some of the early-access backers are really hard at work. The Editor wiki is filling up with information (the Editor looks a lot more capable than I thought it would be, though it is all still just trigger based - no scripting language - which may hamper ambitious projects) and many people are already putting up tutorials and Content Packs.

Example of how to make/use phone calls as part of your Runs;

I'm still hoping for a large, indepth, sprawling SP campaign.

A team is already at work remaking SNES Shadowrun in SR:R So Much Win Should be out sometime in 2017 Sad

~edit~

"Texture Usage" gauge is just an indicator. Obviously once you've used a texture it doesn't take up memory for subsequent uses, so the "usage" gauge is for unique textures. The more you use, the longer loading time will be and may affect performance, but there doesn't appear to be any physically enforced limit - it's just an indicator to let you know.

I would suggest that is for internal use. Important to know for consoles/handhelds. Did they announce ports yet?

iOS and Android are already confirmed, though it will most likely be tablets only. The editor is only for PC though and I don't *think* user made Runs can work on iOS/Android.
