New DLC available now. Very Happy

Scenario Mode is available now! You need to restart the game first.

I played through the entire game on the unpatched version, then the release day update happened and I continued just exploring the world and finishing up the remaining side quests as best as I could.

When the 1.01 update was released I got that familiar beta message "Save is from a older version of the game and unsupported." so I deleted the old game and started over, currently about to enter the marshlands again.
(Where's that damn goat anyway and is it possible to kill the little "loot bag" monster before he jumps?)

So far (thankfully.) none of the updates after 1.01 has given that prompt. Smile
(You can still continue but in the beta new features and function would bug or not work at all with older saves so I started over immediately when I got that error.)

EDIT: Anyways resume the game and go to the secret lair once more and you should be able to access the content.

Just tested the new update myself.

Characters -> then the play button -> single (or multi) then -> scenarios (instead of story). Smile
(Or - I guess - from the Ink gate in the second chapter of a existing game.)

(Instead of just clicking the resume button.)

EDIT: Then enter the teleporter and choose either Gallowsbolg (lv.32) or the Orichalcum Mines (Lv.31)

Yeah there is an option to play scenario on character select. and there is changelog for Update 10 (v1.1.00)
Quote:

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing v1.1.00

Known issues:
The multiplayer game still has some issues. Please play it with a character created for the multiplayer only because data loss may occur sometimes.

Balance changes:
- Lady Katarina has percentage based HP regeneration on each difficulty level.

Fixed bugs:
Multiplayer:
- Fixed an issue with Snowpelt.
- Fixed a Multiplayer-related issue with the Parry skill.
- Players cannot teleport outside the map anymore.
- Custom colors of other players work correctly.

General:
- Fixed a rare issue where Lady Katarina forgot which combat form she used last time.
- Fixed the second Set bonus of the Ravenscar Belt. (Giving some Weapon Damage bonus to a Belt doesn't really help much Wink )
- Items couldn’t get dropped inside terrain objects.
- Whirlwind Ornithopters fixed.
- Wasp Ornithopter fixed.
- Assault Ornithopter fixed.
- Some pathfinding improvements have been implemented.

New features:
- Scenario Mode is available in the game.

Did you use the three initial gems on the statue in the first town in chapter #1 to get the key?
(If the key actually has a use by now.)

Finished it. Like it a lot even though it got a bit boring in the second half. I guess that's why I usually don't play many aRPG's, too much grinding through hordes of enemies... Still liked this one more than say Torchlight.

Three, first one is separate and is left entirely once you beat the boss (You get a warning about it.) but you can warp around between locations from the second and third "act" of the game without problem. Smile
(Third part is also pretty short and doesn't have that many locations but a few more side quests open up - a remake of the defense mission for one thing - and some locations are re-used though with some differences.)

It's good. But nothing special. It lets you revisit the Orichalcum mines which has lvl 31 mobs and Gallowsbog with lvl 32 mobs.

Dunno if i am playing this wrong, but on hard difficulty melee character is like this "hit one time, run and repeat". Feels absolutely weak at start (in the swamp areas, havent played at all, so much games atm).

Played through with a melee char on hard as well. With potions and the healing spell, you shouldn't have a problem. But yeah, occassionaly you do need to run away for a bit.

Depends on how you built your character, but the most trouble I got there was from ranged enemies with an elemental attack, since my elemental resistance was low.

Did you enchant your gear at the Romani camp? Did you take The Sword in the stone, that sword is pretty great in those starting areas.

Thanks for the answer. I'll try it later, since I did get a bit bored towards the end.

You have to use powerups. I'm sure there are many different tactics but personally I had Cleave skill with a power up that heals me for each enemy I hit. So when I was low at HP that was my go-to skill. It was an instant full health heal (provided you hit multiple enemies). Once I had that skill I didn't need to use run and gun tactics.

Also the default heal skill is useful to upgrade early on.

-----

But I found the game to be difficult on normal in those starting areas, on hard even those tactics might not work.

Works fine on hard too, exactly what I'm doing Smile

I'm actually spamming mana pots rather than healing pots. Just cleave non-stop and hit space if HP drops; I took the 50% damage powerup as well, so my power up is 2xHeal (10% of max HP for each enemy) and 1xDamage. Need to note that I did put some points into parry as well, Katarina's skills are mostly geared to reducing damage on me.

I do need to move out of the strike area with those big motherfuckers in Gallowsbog, but you got like 1.5s to do that and you don't have to run away, just go stand beside them Razz

Wow is the drill worm broken on heroic or something? talking about patch 1.1. The worm itself had 6.5k hp which is fine but the spiders that show up all had 2.5k to 4k+ health. they were basically unkillable, even if you ran them through falling debris. i ran this before as melee, hardcore heroic and one shot it...i restarted on just heroic as a caster build and died 28 times to kill it.

the melee run i did on a prior patch, i remember killing the spiders regularly and dont remember them having so much hp.

The Drill Worm broke when they released the last big patch. The spiders were Way overpowered. They released a small patch Sunday afternoon that fixed it.
