That being said, 10 minutes into the game (i'm with anna in the tunnels) i press esc to pause, screen goes black instead and game froze and had to shut down process.
Yeah ..
i think i wait for an update, before ruining my fun.

There are DLCs planned for this game? In that case I'll wait too Still got plenty other games to finish. |
In preproduction/production:
4 SP DLC from the perspective of other characters.
Much later, if all goes well:
MP standalone game (MP modes from LL were cut to focus on SP).
SDK.
Also planned but nothing set in stone:
PS4 version + PS4 version of the original. (Currently they don't even have PS4 SDKs).

They aren't going to ban hundreds of thousands of people for using a VPN. And what about people who need to use a VPN for work? So you didn't turn your VPN off and played the game thinking it was out, ban! I can't see that happening.

Holy cow the game is broken on my 7850.
In the opening scene there are spots where if you look at them the framerate goes belly up to 12 fps regardless of the setting and shadows start to glitch out.

Well ever since i managed to fix my performance, i've been having fps between 40 and 60 on 1080p everything except SSAA and adv physx enabled.
Atleast the game runs better the their old version of the engine

Aside from human_steel's opinion, could anyone give his opinions on the game ? Playing Metro 2033 atm and liking it quite much, so I'm wondering if I should install this or not.

Next update will bring FoV var in the .ini, but it will also break all animations and more (which is the reason it wasn't included already)! They are evaluating more proper solutions, that will probably require significant work...
Quote: | I come bearing FOV news from 4A.
We're aware the community have been asking for a 'Field of View' slider for Metro: Last Light. Unfortunately, this was not as simple a thing to implement as it might appear!
The main reason for maintaining a fixed FOV is because we have 3D elements like the watch and weapon ammo that need to remain visible.
In addition, all the game's first-person cut scenes and cinematics and each and every animation involving Artyom's hands - idle weapon animations, reloads, ladder climbing, melee attacks etc, - were created assuming the same, fixed field of view.
Changing the FOV would break all the cut-scenes and animations - you would be able to see inside Artyom's arms, or they would appear to float in the air in front of you. Or worse.
We had considered offering three FOV pre-sets, but this would still require significant work to re-do every animation, adjust the HUD and UI and other seemingly small but incredibly time consuming tasks.
Even with a wider but still fixed field of view, Artyom's hands would look too far away. We know - we tried.
Game performance is also tied to FOV - the amount of geometric detail we put in each scene has been partly determined by this set FOV, and setting a wider FOV would have a performance impact.
We understand this issue is important to many people, and we have been looking at possible solutions.
In the immediate term - the next title update, due in the next few days will allow you to directly change the FOV in the .cfg files.
This may well trigger a number of issues listed above - you have been warned!

I assume it's the G series program which was changed from Setpoint (For the mice.) a while back to just LGS or Logitech Game Software or what it stands for, I forgot.
(Latest version is 8.45 or some such, replaces Setpoint and the earlier program for the G series keyboards, now it's just one unified program for both.) | Thanks JBeckman.
I'm still running setpoint, hopefully won't run into any problems
I'll give it a go tomorrow.

That it is, however that's a animated effect whereas the PhysX option makes it fully dynamic such as having it react to the environment.

You don't interact with it though.
Quote: | Metro: Last Light’s immersive scenes are filled with volumetric effects like fog, steam, and smoke, helping immerse the player in the world. With hardware PhysX enabled, many of these effects are rendered as real-time Fog Volumes solely using PhysX particles, enabling the effects to float around the environment, collide with one another, and react to external forces, like the explosions detailed earlier.
Through the PhysX Smoothed-Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) SDK, 4A were able to fine-tune the properties of each effect, enabling heated smoke to rise and dissipate, outdoor fog to drift across the scene, and cooled vapor to persist at the foot of a walk-in freezer. These SPH particles are further enhanced in Last Light through the replication and simulation of real-world compressible fluids, enabling the player to walk through Fog Volumes, look down, and see the particles realistically shift around Artyom’s body.
Without hardware-acceleration, players will still see visually arresting, non-interactive particle effects with pre-baked, scripted movement that occurs regardless of player interaction. |

So is the vertical FOV of this game 45 again, like in the first?
From the screens I've seen so far it doesnt look like that - more like 50-55
I could live with that, 60 should be optimal but only below 50 is when it gets really bad
