Just bought this monitor and it´s fantastic for gaming.

Loving it, definitely worth it!

Can´t go back to 16:9 Very Happy

21:9

Kinda an overkill imo... Plus I kinda got used to 16:10 so it's weird for me when I see a 16:9 monitor...

It's cheaper than the U2713HM Scratch Head

But it looks like a weird, niche product. Web is designed for 4:3 as it is, I couldn't imagine how it would look on this.
But one of these on landscape, and I could probably have an entire file of our source codes show. Laughing

Looks like this:

Dont see any problem...

And in games look like this:

I´m very happy with the result, it´s very immersive in shooters.

I was a little reticent before buying it, but all my worries were gone as soon as I ran Far Cry 3 in this resolution Smile

It´s just better...

Why is the fucking gun taking a fifth of such a wide screen?

And what the fuck is that FUGLY font in your browser?

It's next gen Leo. Get with the program, it is because Crytek says so!

It's obviously a feature. Gun takes up so much of the screen your video card processes less textures of the world in front of it.

It's not next gen, it is development for a piece of shit hardware from 2005. Rolling Eyes A hardware so shit, they have to put a fucking 55 degrees field of view angle. And this is why this monitor, at the end of the day, is doomed to fail. Because playing on a device like this, with any sense of what one should see at such wide perspective, it is simply impossible to enjoy what is on screen. It would be simply distracting to no end. So it becomes a cat and mouse game (or cat and dog) which game has support for proper FOV adjustment and which doesn't, and let me give you a spoiler here - most don't. Even Crysis 3, if you edit the FOV, the weapon remains oversized. Mad

Somewhat unrelated but the FoV should be ~55 something (Vertical) from what I remember, there should be three of them as well.

cl_fov = (Normal FOV, If I understood correctly then 65 is something like 90 horizontal.)
pl_movement.power_sprint_targetfov = (FoV while sprinting, otherwise similar to the above.)
r_drawnearfov = (first person FOV, affects gun model size if I remember correctly.)

(I use 64 for all three in the current config I have for the game, don't have the beta itself though, heh.)

I have no idea! lol

I used to have the computer connected to my living room TV, and I changed so many shit at the time so that I could browse in the couch and read the text.

The font was one of those changes most likely...

When I connected it again to the monitor I always felt there was something wrong, but I couldn´t remember what Very Happy

Im about to pull the trigger on Asus MX299Q, tried it and it looks damn awesome on gaming (tried only Diablo 3 but it was alone for me to get convinced about how good 21:9 can look if there is proper support). Watched little also movie, damn how nice. My question is tho, how the flawless widescreen program works (or whatever the program was called) in these days shit ports?

Ah i see, welcome to the 21:9 Master race ultra wide gaming Cool Face

I can't remember the last game that i couldn't run in 21:9. Worst was probably risen3, took a day or so for someone to come up with a solution.
Older games might not all be supported though, but the newer ones have native most of the time.

And yes it's glorious.

FW you just install it and click the game you want the plugin to activate for. Then you got FoV options and whatnot. You can even install it now and check it out.

Careful with online games though since it counts as a memory hack so ... use at your own risk.
For ex, i run d3 in borderless windowed mode since it's the only way i can get 21:9 support without using FW.
