What? Of course the layout is similar. Both have a "start island" that is populated by regular working people, a fancy "Manhattan island" with skyscrapers and expensive cars and a third island that is boring and you don't really want to go to unless a mission dictates it

You do realise that you just wrote down all the parts for a normal city, right?

Do you realise that these parts don't need to be split into separate islands (look at Vice City where where the skyscrapers stand next to the poor Haitian territory) and that Rockstar built the cities in Vice City and San Andreas in a different fashion and will do it different in GTA5 as well (from what I understand so far)?
"Bothered"? "First world problems"?
I just said that the layout is similar and named open world games with different layouts to show that the similarity is not inevitable and therefore probably intended.
Really? I find the game to be really bland looking, especially when it comes to textures (look at the dog, it's probably a PSed downscaled screen and the muddy texture on the dog is just...uh.)
On games by this size, assuming the game world will be huge ass, you can't just high-res everything, you don't really have that luxury, so most likely the only high quality textures will be on main characters and things you interact really closely. Rest of them might hang around 512x/1024x. But hey...texture mods.
Edit: Sure engine might be optimized, and support dozen of 2048 but they won't bother leaving that textures into PC version.

I like how you can tell it's a playable character flying the passenger jet, that's going to be fun
I wouldn't get too excited. Chances are that's just a cutscene and you end up bailing out (like at the end of BoGT) rather than actually flying it around. I doubt they want videos on Youtube of people recreating 9/11.

Think away the vaseline and it does look great. Textures will look muddy because of FXAA/MLAA. I'm wondering about how it'll run as well though, because looking at that water...that'll hurt if it's as optimised as GTA4
I hope after a bazillion games Rockstar has learned how to create a final mission that isn't idiotically hard and frustrating leading to numerous cheap deaths.
Hey guys I'm about to play IV and EFLC again so which mods would you all recommend? I last played both games back when they were released without any mods.
