After Drew left the series lost all sense of direction. The best card they had was the mystery of the reapers and how they are sort of Lovecraftian monster-gods. Since the end of ME2 this driving force was gone. And ME2 was really a 50/50 game for me. Some levels like the derelict reaper one were terrific, others were shit. The dark energy sub-plot was probably the most interesting that came from there.
I'm replaying the first game now and there are so many things they left to the player's imagination like The Shadow Broker and Cerberus, Sovereign's motives, the protheans, etc. If the second game had some of the atmosphere of it's predecessor, in the third game it felt like the player was liberating the Middle East in space.
Edit: Also by doing a lot of fan service on the go, they sidetracked a few interesting ideas. I still remember Casey saying how Tali was included in ME2 instead of Kahlee Sanders /protagonist from the books and comics/ to please the raging fanbase.
I didn't have any problem with Tali (or Garrus, also fan-service arguably) coming back for 2 and 3. They had to have some actual link back to the first game, and on the list of things to criticise, that sort of thing would be right down the bottom.
As to the Reapers being a mystery, that was only because they had no plot worked out for them. In that regard ME1's atmosphere was more luck than design.
dont think anyone ever found out how to properly disable the vignetting
there is the DepthOfField=False .ini method but it also disables other postprocessing
you could also try to set up sweetfx vignette so that it brightens the corners and eliminates the original effect but this only works if the effect always has the same strength throughout the game, or else you get white corners instead of black ones
It seems like the culprit is the image located in memory at address 0x7E29F2CA. However, extracting the image gives an odd result, and trying to replace it hasn't given me much success. It's not just a case of a simple alpha channel trick it would seem.
have problems with leviathan and omega dlc, both reloaded version, i installed everything by the nfo, and i dont get mail on normandy for dlc's, help pls, thx
From memory Leviathan gives you an email as well, but try travelling to the Citadel and see if you get an option to dock at Bryson's lab. I'm not sure if you have to get to a certain point in a new game before it triggers. I played it with a char that had already finished.
You might want to make a backup of your legit profile file, as it will be overwritten/modified by the pirated version (seeing as both copies will share the My Documents settings/saves folder). I believe they banned people from multiplayer at least via examining the profile file. Not sure if it went as far as an outright Origin ban, but caution would probably be a wise policy.

Which thing should I back up? The MyDocuments/BioWare/Mass Effect 3 folder? Is there any other hidden folder or something?
Slow news week I guess if they are posting random fan videos.
They could have done a lot more with any of the existing ME games if they had made them for current PCs instead of the 360. Given that the "next gen" ME title/s will be limited by the next set of console hardware, what they will end up looking like is entirely dependent on how good (or bad) that hardware is. They always skimp on the GPU and RAM, so I wouldn't be expecting miracles. I would guess that a lot of their new horsepower will be devoted to running games natively in 1080. I wouldn't be surprised if texture quality remains roughly the same as it is currently, not to mention a lack of DX10/11-like features such as tessellation, etc.
Right, now try making the engine render more than 1 character. Oops lets not get ahead of ourselves. We don't know how powerful next gen consoles will be, and BioWare are never really good at pushing hardware limits. High fidelity is not something they are interested in. The abysmal texture quality is a good evidence of that.

Really now..
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
