i just got to the second island
AND IM FUCKING IMMORTAL!! ahahah i have no idea the fuck happened, but i have no weapons, i can insta-kill (takedowns), but i cant die

I felt that interesting characters like Vaas and dr Earnhardt were shamefully undeveloped and underused. Especially the second one - from trailer it seemed like he would have some bigger role, yet he barely appears in the game. Overall i found the game to be pretty good but story rather weak and undeveloped.

The whole story is completely useless imo. They went through all that trouble making trailers and ads with Vaas, while you hardly ever see the guy. It's misleading PR imo, which they knew very well.
And failing SQs because you walk off the trail is one of the worst design decisions I have ever seen in a game. Accept SQ --> complete the objectives --> walk about 100 meters to pick a relic --> fail the SQ because ypu didn't go to the quest giver right away. Happened three times now (one MQ, two SQs).

Oh man, I'm soooooo glad that I didn't cave in and bought it. The MP is such a broken piece of shit... didn't see something this broken in a long time.
At least the SP is decent enough and from what people told me, the Co-Op is too.

Here we go. Finally... and I thought I was the only one feeling this way. Wasted potential on every corner. After watching those "FarCry Experience" video series, I hoped to see Vaas doing stuff like he did in those (riding on captive's back, like they're horses and playing the trumpet and such ). But no... nope... nothing. About 5 minutes Screentime and a stupid QTE -.-

MP is headless chickens running around.
If they made the characters run and move slower, made the pace of the game slower then I think that MP would be fun.
It would force people to sneak and teamwork would be more present I think.
Now its just pointless running around and shooting stuff.

I'd also want a DLC campaign where you play as Vaas and you get to fight your way up to be the king of the pirates.
Also it would have been nice to get new weapons, or new attachements when you reach island 2. Or they could just restrict some to island 1. Also New Game+ where you have fully populated islands again. Or pirates scrambling to re-take bases. Or them all hudling together in the remaining bases when you take some over, which would lead to a last, giant, over-crowded last base that's nearly impossible to take.
But actually a really good game when I want to play it more, with Far Cry 2 I was just glad that it was finally over.

Wat ??
I thought some new ones appeared when you start the next island, I think I've got about 28 so far and there's only a few more to get via relics etc so they'll be a discrepancy of about 10 because I think there was supposed to 43 in total.

well i guess it finally happened.
others have been having their horror stories, now its my turn. it was funny at first, but i just cant fix this immortality bug. i think maybe somewhere along the line, the game has kinda left me in cinematic mode or something? or it thinks im in a non-combat area? i basically can not get access to any of my weapons no matter where i go on the island, doesnt matter if i fast travel anywhere, doesnt matter if i start new mainstory missions... ive tried restarting the game..... i cant get my weapons back.
what a fucking bummer, this bug blows. i was enjoying the game too.
edit: yay, got my weapons back. had to complete the uniform quest on the second island before the bloody game gave me my guns back. how silly is that?! is the game supposed to be like that?! or was it a bug. either way, damn silly. hope the guns dont disappear again
but im happy, now i can go back to killing those fucking natives!!!

The game puts you in non-combat mode and takes away your weapons in the uniform mission, but only after you enter a certain area marked with yellow on your map. Probably you entered the mission area accidentally then left, and the game got bugged.

Must be something like that, normally that should have cancelled the mission due to leaving the area plus isn't that after you are already on the boat past the caves so leaving should be fairly difficult too?

You enter the non-combat mode from the beginning, all the way through the cave, until you get to leave with the boat. But yes, wandering outside the mission area should result in mission failure.

MP would have been tons of fun if they made a jungle warfare map.
Stealthy game play and teamwork wtf
I hate the maps they have now and I hate the game play.
Is there a way to mod game play or you can only make maps but do nothing to the mechanics of the game?

Have you unlocked recipe for Untouchable medical syringe ? Gives your character temporal god mode. Maybe if you use it in your case it will make your character normal again as it times out

Don't often finish games but I played this attentively till the end (Even liberated all bases/towers but drew the line at missions/relics as I would have gotten burned out..) - this years suprise gem for me. Wasn't expecting much after FC2 but really enjoyed this.

take note that 1.02 makes baddies tougher
if i put a high powered rifle round in a skull i expect my target to die
so no patch for me

i finally got a good fire. i shot the molotov out of a guards hand from +200m and it took out half the camp. maybe i was just having bad luck before...

yeah but i didnt have weapons since the moment i landed on the island!! i have a feeling it had something to do with the plane-ride over. i noticed that the game set up a waypoint on the beach, and when i reached it, the waypoint didnt disappear, but a new one was added. i think it had something to do with that..

nope, i would have seen the timer at the bottom of the screen... and it certainly wouldnt have lasted THAT long, even with the tattoo enhancements
anyway, weird bug, i know im not the only one to get it, but im glad that i got past it (atleast i hope! *crosses fingers*)
