The only real problem with Risen 1 was the second half of the game because the first one was bloody good

G3's problem was the complete lack of main story. You basically had: 1.Find Xardas 2.Collect magical plot item of the day 3.The end. And that killed the whole thing for me. Sure it offered freedom of exploration, but it lacked the structure that made the first two games feel like a complete story.

Yep.
I never finish Risen 1, but I start it 3 times because the first part was very good but I couldn't convince myself to go further in the last dungeon stupid part, 3 times.
In G3 I let of 2 times, one in vanilla and second with the community patch. It's just so bud structured and unfinished...

g3 certainly feels like a gothic game, it's just that the combat is so bad that it drags the entire game down the shitter.

Community patch bro, it improves the combat to some extend. And those big fights when you're taking out an entire town makes up for it, at least in my eyes.

My problem in G3 is the HUGE amount of BUGS and the mediocre at best story and that it runs like sh..t even in today top hardwere and those with the latest patches on.
The G1 and G2 had problems but the quality in the "heart" of them make us to go pass them.
G3 is a gothic game, unlike G4, but a very Bad one.

G3, for all its faults, was at least ambitious. The best than can be said about R2 is that it's mostly bug-free

I enjoyed all of those games nearly equally. Except that G3 felt unfinished. The thing called somehing something Arcania. I couldnt get further than the first 10mins of the game.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

I bet you were manipulated by all kinds of hate for this game if you only lasted for 10 minutes. I can't take anyone seriously when they say "game is shit, played for 10 minutes"

Within 10 mins of playing G3 you could run into a boar of doom though. Shit was infuriating. You had to learn to avoid wildlife for the first few hours, at least if you were melee.

What you are saying is not wrong, of course. So you say the game isnt shit then? I really enjoyed G3, even after all the criticism, but Arcania, I dunno... The beginning really felt extremely boring, and the demo didnt convince me either.

The biggest problem with Arcania was the extreme linearity, followed by the badly leveled exploring zones and shitty dungeons, boring quests, hilariously bad dialogues and incredibly easy difficulty. Graphics were pretty though, unoptimized as hell but pretty. I resisted for some hours until I had to give up..

I'm not saying it's a good game. I'm just saying that it is up to you to figure out for yourself and not give a shit what everyone else thinks. I did finish the game myself. Terrible as a Gothic game, but ok for what it is.

Both G3 and G4 are terrible but G3 is also unplayable.

G3 is totally playable and enjoyable with the community patches. (especially the last ones)

G3 is definitely not enjoyable, at least like G1 and G2 and Partially Risen 1 and 2.
Iit's Playable, with patches of community, only for the hard core P.B. fans.
For the most, it's only lost time, not worth the effort at all.
