No thanks, the last time I went there I read this

I think Assassins Creed 3 will be the first game I will attempt to play, but I will strictly be doing the main quests while avoiding the extra missions and side quests. So at least I will not get to overwhelmed and burned out. |
I'm still in recovery...

Actually the freerunning requires A if you want to jump. If you just press RT you will freerun forwards, but if you want to go UP or jump from a branch you need to press A.
Time slows down after a counter because now you have a choice of what to do, you can kill the guy, disarm him or throw him (I think). With that said, I do think that the slow-mo is unnecessary, I wonder if you can turn it off in the options or something.
I've watched a lot of videos on YT, and I really, really like the slow introduction, but that might be just me.
Hunting looks fantastic, definitely more in-depth than the one in RDR for example.

How can the fights be even more simplified, it's something basically impossible to achieve.
Don't tell me that they introduced the revolutionary Awesome Eagle Button 2.0 like in Saints Row The Third.

Strange, cause to me the combat (controls) feels pretty much identical to the previous games

Haha I'm not surprised that the ending is bad, there are still at least a couple of Asscreeds left until this generation of consoles dies out!

Yep, gameplay was lacking but the story was great though, including the ending.

I hated Brotherhood and yet was so interested in Revelations that it was the only AC game that I've completed 100%
Different strokes eh
1 and 2 are still amazing.

Indeed. I've noticed that many people bash some AC games because of the gameplay and some others favour the story aspect mostly. I enjoyed Revelations anyways, I just couldn't enjoy it as much as Brotherhood despite the much better story.

Must say that after I've been playing this for a few days now, i still find some annoyances with the players movement mechanics.
You can hardly walk past a corner, without the player "sticking" to the wall aka going into cover.
Actually it's pretty much like that with a lot of things...f.e try to steal from a guy close to a wall, and you often go to lean up of it instead.
It gets annoying after a while.
Then there's the climbing, especially in trees...there are synchronization points in some trees, and i gave up on reaching one of them, because instead of swinging over and grab the next branch, "he" simply jumped straight out in the air and fell all the way down.
There's no fluid movement on objects, roofs and such...if you don't point the camera/player the right way, he'll do the same and simply jump out into nothingness.
It makes sense to have to point in the direction you're going, but due to the movement and camera systems being so jaggy and based on what feels like scripted movement _all the time_, it produces a lot of errors or annoyance.

It feels the same but it's harder. I'm in the tax missions now and taking on tax collectors and red coats (including the heavy units) feels harder than the previous games. You almost can't get a hit in with the insane amount of countering you have to do between multiple units, so killing quickly and limiting mobs are you is the best way to go. I'm glad the devs made that harder but in some cases, it just seems too hard. Guns are slow to reload (yay) and I think the tomahawk is the best all around weapon. It seems they've toned down on the hidden blade for attacking outside of assassinating. You can't necessarily hide up on the roofs since the redcoats take pot shots if you're exposed.
