,,I promised myself, i would control myself but i don't think i can do it.
I could say I am not an alcoholic but it may sound i am in denial.
Seriously, I didn't drink any kind of alcohol for a month but once I have tasted it, there is no stopping back...I can taste it, I can smell it...
not sure, there is no hope for me...
fuck, i thought those days are over me, when i thought about suicide but....they jus't won't go away............

I too have had my run-in's with the demon vodka. Such a harmless clear fluid, that great feeling of relief with the first sip sliding down my throat. After a bad day, or not such a bad day it was what I had to look forward to when I got home. I have no huge drunk-a-logs to tell you, I have no drinking and driving charges, nobody even complained about my behavior. Shit, did it ever work when it did.
Problem was it stopped working. AND........then I had to change. According to my handy dandy sobriety app... that was 2 years, 4 months, and 2 days ago.
Don't think suicide, you have other options to try yet. You can live a life without it and still be happy.
Altho my mind is a funny thing. It tried to tell me I could sip a glass a wine,...
..I hate wine...I have never sipped anything! but yet here my mind told me I could sip wine like a lady.
Then I could eat a piece of cheese and it would be ok.
Hahahahhhaa Silly mind!!! Out to get me sometimes

Vodka is shit. Drink schnapps. If you ever get to ex-Yugoslavia countries, buy plum or apple quince or apricot schnapps. Absolutely best way to get drunk.
But be sure to buy directly from peasants who produce it for their own needs, because the companies tend to sell artificial aromatized schnapps.

Priceless. They are talking about their fear of becoming alcoholics and you're teasing them with better alcohol.
Yes, yes I'm back.

If you are talking about vodka, then you must be drinking expensive vodkas, cause "normal" ones taste like crap.
| DarkPassenger wrote: | Ugh... I hate that stuff, it leaves a horrible aftertaste |
You just need to drink enough water, and next morning you will wake fresh as a rose. Or someone gave you factory schnapps (made from sugar and with artificial aroma added)? Natural ones don't leave nothing.
| fisk wrote: | | Priceless. They are talking about their fear of becoming alcoholics and you're teasing them with better alcohol. |
Well, if they are gonna become alcoholics, it's better they drink quality alcohol
Seriosly now, there is no body addiction to alcohol. If someone is becoming an alcoholic, it's a psychological problem and the guy should talk to a psychologist to determine the root of problem. And also, the introspection. Meanwhile, drink fruit schnapps!

Also you need to get away from friends who think that it's 'awesome uber kewl' to get pissed drunk...
It's not cool, and it's not good. And anyone who says otherwise is an ass-hat...

In a moderate quantities, sure, but getting so drunk that you can't remember what happened last night is not fun....

I only get slightly drunk on weekends, with beer, some vodka and plum palinka (local booze). During the week, i don't even get close to alcohol. Fortunately for me, i'm a person who really need lots of hard stuff to get completely wasted - first and last time happened 15 years ago.
As a rule of the thumb, if you get drunk easily (3- 4 beers), stay away from alcohol.

Same, although lately I barely drink very alcoholic stuff anymore, only beer and some wine (but not often). Last time that I got completely wasted was in 2003, never again.

That's the problem, I don't remember anything. I woke up on the stairs (outside) at around 8 am and it was raining

There is a whole school of thought out there that say different. They call it physical craving. Alcohol breaks down into acetone in an alcoholic. Acetone is physically addictive. The more you drink the thirstier you get. Not all people have it obviously. Something to seriously consider is why do some people drink despite all the negative consequences, death, losing a spouse, families, a job....court orders. Given a sufficient reason to stop they are unable to do so. They can't drink but they can not help but drink. It's an awful place to be.
Unless someone has been there your insight on the subject is very limited.
