So I get a cut today, I tell the guy I want my hair spiked, as I usually do...
Well, instead the guy gives me this astounding hair style... Something that resembles some of the styles punk rockers have during publicity shots. I immediately asked him how he did it (the styling), and he basically says, put some gell in it and just use your hands a bit...
Well, I decide to try it tonight so that I don't look like a dumbass in the morning, and now I can't fucking do it...
So instead of getting a normal, low-maintenance hair style, I get to look like a rock star for a day and like a dork for as long as it takes me to figure out what the devil he did...
!!!

Find out what gel / wax he used. There are variations of it, some can hold it in place better than others whilst adding a shine to it. Also you must know if he used just his hands to style it, and if he did then its just about gettin the right technique.

Wax is usually better for this kind of style.

It depends, i cant get the same results with different gels. Just try and find out what he used and it will be done much easier

ok a few hints. if its a mohawk you got, just use gel and draw a comb back and forth till it stands. then use spray and a hot fan to fix the details. this will work unless its a 3 foot mohawk. other things good for spikey hair is cum, beer, not washing hair at all, soap, gelatine and so on, so on. |
It wasn't a mohawk. The best I can describe it as is a partial spike with about an inch of hair going forward in front of it. He only used his hands, and he used two portions of gel (I presume), although I don't know what kind or how big the portion.
This is my best imitation of it, although imo it looks little like the original.

I am the EXPERT on hair spikes.. check out my old pictures if you want proof..
Rub a crap load of gel in your hair, use the "STRONG HOLD" but cheaper stuff, none of this "brand name" crap, its useless, dries too quick to style properly.. rub it in your hair till everything you want to be gelled is covered. Take a comb and comb BACKWARD into ALL of your hair, give yourself a 60's Fonz type look.. Rub the excess gel away somewhere.. No take the comb and place it into your hair, the tips only.. then flick it upward spiking your hair slightly.. do this ALL OVER.
Bend over (STFU  ).. take a little bit more gel and hold your hands out plam up facing your skull.. then shake your head through your hands, let your hands act as combs to bring your hair together.. basicly just shake you head a shit load and use your hands to lightly move it into place.
Take a hair dryer and dry your hair, while still bending over, so your head is "upside down".. use hair spray (ultra strong) should this take too long!
your hair should look awsome  !

I can see what you're suggesting, but bending upside down for too long (1-2 mins) made blood rush to my head, and I almost passed out from it.
Using a crapload of gel in the beginning doesn't help either... my hair is extremely thin and fluffy, so that weighed it down quite a bit, and it was only capable of standing up once I was upside down, which I mentioned I cannot do for too long. |

Thats a hell of alot of trouble to go to.
