Not to mention the "promised" fixes for the blinding bloom and fov that obviously will never see the light of day. I even waited for a week or so, then had to shit-deleted it...very satisfying though Razz Laughing

Yes? I just started playing this yesterday.
That bloom is horrible.
I've run against so many walls because I cant see shit captain.

The console commands posted on other sites are almost utterly useless.

xr_effectmodels 0
xr_flares 0
xr_zfog 0

These only disable all kinds of lighting effects/fog, no impact on BLOOM.

xr_dfrtargetratio 1

This is the only one that makes it slightly better, by disabling at least the orange glow.

So after months there STILL IS NO REAL FIX?
Why am I even waiting so long to play new games if they never get fixed!!!
First Battlefield 3 and now this. Evil or Very Mad

FOR ONCE I WOULD LIKE TO PLAY A GAME AND NOT HAVE TO DEAL WITH
- BLINDING POST EFFECTS
- LIMITED FOV
- BLURRY TEXTURES
- GRAPHICAL GLITCHES
- SHITTY MOUSE

Is this the new industry standard now?
I mean c'mon these guys MADE RIDDICK! And now look at..THIS.
What the flying fuck is going on.

Its kinda good enough to warrant a playthrough, so I'm gonna force myself through the remaining 14 chapters. Surprised

The backstory is the most interesting, if not for the gameplay I want to at least read all the infobank entries.

No, we aren't and yes, the game is absolutely terrible. You know what's the problem in gaming these days? People underreact. That's why we keep getting these idiotic looking/working games.

No, we aren't and yes, the game is absolutely terrible. You know what's the problem in gaming these days? People underreact. That's why we keep getting these idiotic looking/working games.

Let me translate that for you KC, because what DR means to say is that people like you who swallow all these pieces of shit are what's killing gaming for the most part Smile

No, consoles are NOT as good as PC's when it comes to shooters, a gamepad is not a good control mechanism for that genre. No, console graphics do not look good - they did 7 years ago, but there's not a single game I've played on my PS3 that comes even remotely close to looking good*. Maybe you don't see it, but that's probably THE FUCKING BLOOM BLINDING YOU Laughing

Wanna see how it can and should be done? Try Tribes: Ascend. Bloom and DERPBLUR are both disabled by default. There is no fucking mouse acceleration, you get perfect response when you move your mouse. The gameplay is not excruciatingly slow because you can't keep up with a gamepad otherwise. It does not run like shit. And mind you, it's still UE3 like every single fucking console game bar the exclusives on each platform (and even some of those are still UE3).

* I'm speaking about technically looking good, not having good art and design.

I understand everything. Don't worry about me. I also hate that fucking omgea derp blur. There was plenty of irony in my post ya know ? Laughing
It is playable if someone really wants to finish the game. I am just saying that the game is quite good. nothing good as binary domain but alright game for boring days.

You don't have to explain that stuff to 1997' PC gamer Wink

Hope I will finally get new pc after this summer. I am hoping to spend at least 1500$ on new machine(and You guys will be helping me choose the parts). I am mainly gaming on 360 because my pc is pile of shit... especially recently... Well and because of some neat exclusives which anyway, would be 10x better 60fps full res etc on pc Wink

The Darkness on pc Awesome

Okay

Ladies and gentlemen, open up the champagne bottles!

Syndicate didn't sell!

Personal thoughts: Don't know about you but I'm glad it so happened. Of course, it's typical corporative way of thinking, so there's no doubt they won't draw appropriate conclusions, i.e. "Taking a good game and turning it into another mediocre FPS game, the market is already over-saturated with, doesn't work". Nobody will be eager to take responsibility for this and therefore we'll end up with "The market is changing." bullshit. Laughing

It's ridiculous, what did they expect?? They're resurrecting an old, fan-favourite, IP and marketing it to people who don't know what the fuck the IP is! If it had been named anything else, it might have actually been pretty good, but it wasn't - it was named and based on Syndicate so the only people the name would appeal to rebelled against the genre and the people who like the genre don't know what the hell Syndicate is in the first place.

If they wanted to resurrect Syndicate, they should have done so properly. Syndicate Wars with today's technology? Holy shit, I'd buy that.

@ sabin1981 You're right! It was basically a game for nobody (well, maybe except for KillerCrocker Cool Face). Neither for old fans who clearly despise this, nor for nowadays kids who have no idea what Syndicate IP is.

they didn't take a risk at all.It had nothing new or innovative, just things that did (sell) well in the past and Bloom set to 200%.I would like to hit the guy with a smelly fish in the face for making me angry over Syndicate again

Weird way of taking a risk. Take a well known IP, make it a shooter. If that is taking a risk, studios like Larian and CDPR must be fully mental.

LOL have at you!!

i love the corporate bullshit talk. taking a risk would have been making a new syndicate game that was an evolution of the old one (isometric non-linear open maps etc etc). making it into a generic fps was nothing short of making a mistake or a bad decision in a meeting with some marketing assholes somewhere early in development.

This game is not as bad as everybody makes it out to be. Its a pretty entertaining linear shooter. It runs great and the gameplay doesn't requirement that much practice. The story is balls but the visuals are good enough to make you keep wondering what the next mission will look like. And the bloom isnt THAT bad, you can get used to it Laughing

I would definitely stay away from melee attacks though. Just assign it to a random button which you will never use and treat this game as if it doesn't contain melee.

This is from a person who never played any Syndicate game though so keep that in mind. If you played other syndicate games, then this game will probably piss you off as Ive seen. But if you never played the series, give it a try its actually a decent shooter lol I enjoyed it Very Happy
