If your checksum is KUMH then all should be fine.

I downloaded "Crusader Kings II 102b RePack by SxSxL". This is the Gamersgate edition which had a launcher that alerted me to the update.
The Steam (Skidrow) edition will have the launcher update functionality removed since the updates will come automatically via Steam. I got this bit of information from the official update thread on the CK2 forums.
Currently the repack by SxSxL is the best way to go. And the checksum matches the official checksum as well.

is ingame version 1.03b, patch you download actually creates new folder when you select your install location, which just leaves 1.02 version, untill you either copy paste files or install patch keeping in mind it creates ck2 folder so you have to mark just paradox ( or any parent folder you had )

Seems the non-scene repack is the way to go. No problems with it: installed it, downloaded the official 1.03b patch just fine and got the correct checksum (KUMH).
The SKIDROW release remains fucked up even after the second update they've put out.

After this patch new patch?
While it annoyed me that every new game, one had to spend 5 min, collecting council members "el cid" etc. But now its near impossible to get anyone near good? Whats the trick here?
And for Mathilde of Toscana - she can´t matrinal marry for shit now? Any good takers in 1066?
And emmm. I took all the popes land in 2 wars, he still resides in a temple in Rome tho, he excoms me, so I assassinate him, I get caught twice trying to kill him, then he finally croakes, new guy gets installed and he likes me, so 50 piety and im golden again
Oh and get 500 piety, set up your most heavenly bishop for antipope and make an extra 30-40 gold a month! Does AI set up antipope? Because thats like an instant win button right now.
Ah ya and with the 1.3 patch, HRE took up arms in England, kills off Norway and Normandy! Like in stomps around London with 12000 man army. King of England rejoices, but then half the HRE erupts in turmoil and declares independant - while fun, hope this does not happen next game.
There are two kinds of people I can't stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures, and the Dutch.

As generally in paradox games, there are going to be a lot of patches for the game
With Matilda it's better to marry of some random courtier with high stats, until the next generation. I've ongoing game with Matilda where I've created kingdom of Italy and Sardinia, and I'm pretty much equal to HRE.
You'll just have to expand fast before the HRE increases the crown authority too high (once you form Kingdom of Italy, the hre laws don't apply to you anymore)

Having a lot of fun with this game so far :-)
Spoiler: | |
I originally just fought the infidels in spain but later happened to inherit a part of italy thanks to my current character's mother which greatly boosted my power. The holy roman empire tried to take it from me later on but I barely managed to hold on and get a white peace out of it.
I've also lead a successful crusade on alexandria which was fun (and expensive)
I wonder how things will look once Duke Yves the Magnanimous dies... he's such a popular guy that I can't imagine my less than stellar sons to carry on his legacy. It'll all probably break apart.
But then, that's part of the fun....

Discovered an easy way to gain CBs. Just check if the target county has some claimants you can invite to your court. If there are, invite them and you get an instant CB you can press. If you manage to push it through, the claimant gets the title and becomes your vassal. With that I managed to unite Ireland and Wales in one generation.
Sadly it was too late to set the succession laws to primogeniture (needed high crown authority and it can only be changed rarely) and for some reason despite a life-long marriage, there were no male heirs, and only 2 daughters. Thanks to gavelkind, Ireland went to one of them, Wales to the other. So after a bit of waring, I united the two kingdoms again, but because I previously married off my daughters all over Europe, there were always someone not from my dynasty being the heir (after each assassination, my nephew would become the heir for a few days, then someone would bring forth another pretender that gets the spot). It also might have had something to do with the fact that I was playing a queen instead of a king with very confusing laws, with both kingdoms being all over the place (Ireland being gavelkind and Wales seniority).
Since I was a woman, pretty much everyone had some gripe with me. The Scottish were already at war with us for one of the northern counties, the pope excommunicated me because one of my duchesses was a bitch and asked for it, so Brittany was also all over me because of it and Connacth decided it was time to become independent.
So I said fuck it. Revoked a bunch of titles, almost everyone revolted and I just let my dynasty go out with a bang.

primogeniture sounds good until you use it, because when king dies you have to change it again, which = another 10 wait, everyone hate new king, and so on, and if you get big empire keeping 15+ vassals happy=impossible,i have 20+ vassals now with ireland, half of finland some german lands, everyone loves me like jesus, bet when i die everyone will go from 50-100 to -50-10 :X

lol it's great how the landscape in this game constantly changes.. it's never static and predictable so it stays interesting for so long...
like this here... wtf just happened to france?! it's so awesome. I love it
Spoiler: | |
played for like 45 hours now and it's still exciting.
I also can't wait to start over with a new dynasty and apply all I've learned so far right from the start.
this game is so good!
also this game is such a good fit for expansions and mods.
adding portraits, plots, ambitions, buildings, tech, traits,...
this game will just keep getting better and better

what tech can you add, tech literally doesnt exist in this game, its there just because its in every paradox game, somewhere its even said there was no real technology at that time, just very very minimal changes
and its so slow, regions based, and with huge minuses if you are ahead, and you are always ahead if you have +1, because half map starts with all 0 tech
