That's because the cutscenes are 720p BIK reencodes of the 360 visuals. Lovely.

Remedy's community manager just said that the AMD Crossfire profile update was a typo. It's for Alan Wake, not Alan Wake: American Nightmare.

It's a DX9-only game.

Just tried it for ~30 minutes, everything is fine (from the performance to mouse controls, which I find pretty good). The visuals are excellent, except for the low-res cutscene videos which are horrible and partially ruin the atmosphere, at least for me.
Gameplay-wise is very "basic", but in a good way since the game can be challenging and rewarding like the good old Remedy titles.
I can't comment on the story because I'm still at the beginning, but this Alan Wake seems to be a solid game so far...nothing particularly impressive nor innovative, but yeah, it's a good game men

What's to doubt? So many games get 0day patches these days.. how is it so hard to believe the leak is prior to that?

nvm actaully, i was still in my head with the low res textures, but they mean pure about bugswise.

JB, would it be possible to use the files from Skidrow on a legit Steam copy to speed up the download process? So it just validates files and redownloads whats left/updated?
