					| Well, I checked on whiterun, markarth, riften, right at the beginning too. | blackeyedboy wrote: | | No idea what you meant there. Kinda vague description, don't you think?
Anyway, just enjoy your game on whatever OS you prefer mate.
Tbh I'd rather play all my games on WinXP (games generally seem more responsive) but I see that this choice is more and more limited.
Oh and another argument to support my "clear statement" - that didn't come out of my ass (as you very, very subtle implied it
) - is that a good friend of mine has a Cyber Cafe with over 100 PCs and tons of hardware configurations. Over there too Win7 seems to be more and more favored by clients that play SP games. (When it comes to MP it matters less, as older games like CS 1.6, CS.S, DoTA and MMO's are still very comfortable with XP.) |
Checked with different driver and game versions and finally checked with/without v-sync and d3doverrider running, AA, etc.

Oh and I didn't imply that you were talking out of your ass, just that what might work and be factual on your case certainly doesn't apply to everyone else.
I'm sure that it runs faster for you on win7.
Hell, almost every other game runs better on win7 than on XP, even the ones that you've mentioned.

(My personal) exceptions so far are Crysis, Crysis Warhead and Skyrim.

					| Well I'd switch to Win7 completely as it sucks to reboot PC just to have some 30 mins of fun after working on 64bit Win7 (usually need more than the 3GB ram).
But the problem is that games for me under Win7 are quite laggy and I've no idea why. Framerate is slightly higher but mouse input is somehow... way too smoother. Actually is so smooth that when FPS drops, it turns into lag. This never happens on WinXP.

					| Most texture mods have a "medium" option. Try the "high" versions first to see how it runs.

					| Friend just deleted the game after first attempt netted 130 hours of game play with an unsolvable quest bug that ruined the entire game (earlier saves didn't help). Restarted game, after 30 hours in she encountered another game stopping bug (and corrupted saves) and just deleted it. She paid for it as well.
Meanwhile I finished it without anything but small niggles. It will take a year or more for Beth to sort out the complex bugs inherent to such a complicated interdependent scripting system. Reminds me of the Stalker: ShoC bugs that slowly corrupted save files until it was too late.

					| I didn't encounter any gamestopping bugs yet, it seems to be hit and miss. I had one autosave going corrupt, but luckily I quicksaved just before that one. Most of the quest bugs can be simply solved with the console btw, no need to stop playing.

Or just stop doing them for a while, and do some other quests and so on, after a while the bugged quest should work fine. Happened few times and that's how I fixed it.

					| I don't think that's the definition of a broken quest. There are some quests you can't progress before finishing another one, but those are very few (as I've eperienced of course). I only had one instance of a broken quest, the NPC for the next stage was dead, but resurrecting him fixed it. Pretty much anything is fixable via console in this game.

					| Ah okay there was a bug/glitch. My presence wasn't triggering an event where 2 more guards come in. It finally worked and one of them had the key to the cave. All good now thanks
