I think it will be fixed in March 2012. Would honestly be surprised if it ended up truly complete by the end of January ... too bad, I like space games.

Likot Mosuskekim, Woodcutter cancels Sleep: Interrupted by Elephant.
Decided to give it another shot today and now I've been playing like 6 hours straight...
It still has some issues but it seems that most of the stuff is working at least somewhat now.
At least I didn't encounter any gamebreaking issues so far in my 150 turns.
Combat looks gorgeous and ship design makes sense now, stations work, trade works, diplomacy works... kinda
I'd say the game is like 80% finished and could be considered a beta now rather than an alpha as you can actually play it without encountering a gamebreaking issue every 2 turns.
It's clear that there's still more stuff to fix and polish and probably some secondary features missing that I don't even know about, but it's looking very very promising at this point.
Can't wait for it to get improved further.
Likot Mosuskekim, Woodcutter cancels Sleep: Interrupted by Elephant.
I noticed there was a recent update to this game. Is it fairly playable now? Would it be worth checking out at this point?
it's playable by now but still not quite done.
I did a playthrough a month ago or so where I played for 20 hour or something without any crashes, but some unessential features were still not working and screen transition times are still like a 2 seconds or something which is really annoying.
so if you are on the star map and want to check out research it takes 2 seconds to load...then another 2 seconds to go back. it's really annoying as in SOTS1 it all happened instantly as it should.
Likot Mosuskekim, Woodcutter cancels Sleep: Interrupted by Elephant.
Its more stable and close to being feature complete as far as I know. The problem I have with the game is that I still find it boring and the game does not entice me to play it much like its predecessor did.
If I am looking for a good turn based game I go play Civilization V and if I am looking for a Master of Orion like experience I am having far more fun with Distant Worlds: Legends and or Sins of a solar Empire: Rebellion.
Still hasn't been given the "all clear" yet. It will still take quite a bit more time after that before it really reaches it's potential, and the game does have a lot of potential.
Anyone playing this since the almighty all clear was given?
I played it about six or eight months ago and I wasn't particularly impressed at the time. Not too sure I want to go through the hassle of finding the updates if it hasn't improved much.
Still unplayable? Bustards. I pre-ordered for full price. Game was unfinished at release. It was like pre-alpha version. They should burn in hell for this.

"For some reason, the UK retailers insist on calling everying a Limited Edition Collection whcih is not really the case. There will be one retail version which will be the same across the board. Prices and information usually adjust closer to the release date, until then just sit back, relax and enjoy your free time. Won't be much of that once the game releases
