F2000 (or M416) w/IRNV
A-91 (or G36C) w/IRNV
M249 (or M27IAR) w/IRNV
M98B (or MK11/SVD) w/ACOG 4x
IRNV scope is ridiculously overpowered and I hope they remove it because it makes the game less fun. Usually anything with the most ROF is better for assault.
M98B does the most damage according to the excels I've seen. Using anything above a 4x scope makes you flash up like a christmas three. It's not scope glints it's a signal flare.

It is a bit OP, but I can't wait to get it on the SKS recon rifle. Went beast mode with it bare - on tdm last night.
Have IR on m416, m249, sv98, pdw-r, f2000 so far.

Just wear the spec ops camo...and they won't be able to see you on their IRNV anymore

Really? I mean really really? If that's true it almost makes me want to drop Skyrim for a bit and play BF3. Spec-ops camo is that DLC right?

Most people aren't using the IRNV anyway, there's so much better optics in the game. I only use IRNV for certain situations in the tunnel in Damavand and on Tehran Highway.

Nah, actually iron sights on some weapons are pretty bad.

Sorry was trying to imitate the style of a previous poster =(
I read that optical uses a camera of sorts to track movement on the pad, whereas a laser tracks the movements of the mouse itself and converts it to movements on the screen.
Seems like optical uses a more traditional approach than laser?

while that may be true using 4x scopes on assault rifles is seriously gimping your overview and if you are a that kind of twat who has bipod and 4x scope on an automatic and lying prone somewhere in the corner of the map you suck anyway

Iron sights or red dot all the way, depends on how good or bad the iron sights are.

Done all the guns exxcept the coop ones and sniper rifles to atleast 1 service star myself the bestirons are the open pin ones ie the a-91 irons are great but i would say all are very easy to use maybe the g36c irons are much but neither is that gun imo.
Its the speed and visability you get with irons that makes them greatlis it makes you feel a little better than the norm seen as atleast 8 in 10 have an assault (f2000) with an acog.

Yeah that's too much. I use ACOG mostly as engineer as that's the class I use on big maps. As assault I rarely use ACOG, my favourite weapon is the AK-74M which I really love and use with no attachments at all, sometimes I use the AEK with a grip and a nade launcher (smoke). The F2000 is good close-quarters but loses a lot of power in the mid-long distances, not worth it for me generally.

It's all likely a bug anyway. DICE had supposedly said prior to release that the camos have no gameplay impact like reducing damage or anything, so having it negate the IRNV scope wouldn't fit in with what they said. in addition, the way only some random parts of the body seem to be affected doesn't make any sense so it's likely unintentional.
they probably screwed up somewhere in the code and forgot to give the materials used on those specops camos the flag to light up on the IRNV.
don't get me wrong though, I totally agree that the IRNV is overpowered and should be nerfed. Many people play with it exclusively and I can't blame them.
If DICE knows what they're doing I'm sure they'll nerf it somehow. Maybe decrease the range at which you can see shit with it then it's use becomes situational and it won't be sooo much better than everything else anymore.
