DarkRohirrim, under rage.bat the "+seta com_SkipIntroVideo 1" is set to ensure it loads early and can skip the intro videos, same for the console command cvar.

Also duplicted into zsettings.cfg for convenience and then cvar add is used to actually get the value to change.

But yes that's a bit of a weird thing to do as it should be +cvaradd com_skipintro 1" in the bat file directly. Smile

(I also changed the actual .bik video to a 2KB 0sec black screen alternative just to be sure it's gone, heh.)

EDIT: This is just because it's a locked CVar and does not change by normal means other than cvarAdd as a override.

I see... Any reason why you removed seta "fc_maxcachememoryMB 256" from your cfg?

Yes, earlier in this thread I discovered (Well found a post with the info on another forums.) that the default value of 96 was maximum, value can be decreased via say "cvaradd fc_maxcachememoryMB -32" but it can't be increased so it got removed.

There's just not a lot of "there" there - my first playthrough, which included every side-mission and several job board assignments, took me 9 hours and 15 minutes. My second, where I completed every side-mission, every job board assignment, every courier mission, and most of the races, took eight hours and 50 minutes. RAGE ends so abruptly that I didn't realize it was over until the final cutscene began. I was left wondering what had happened.

What's the point in asking? If Metacritic scores have an impact on you, it sounds like you've already made up your mind Wink I love the game, so do others, and at the same time.. others hate it. Just pirate it and see for yourself.

Indeed, its not the uber best game we all expected, but its a fairly good game anyway (compared to quality these days) and worth playing atleast once.

Portal 2 had a 5.1/10 user metacritic score (nowadays it's 8.1) mainly because Valve accidentally left in a string that had the word "console" instead of "PC" in the PC version which "clearly" meant the game was another crappy console port.

The PC version eventually outsold the console versions; everything was overblown by the "fans".

That much the metacritic score means the very first days of the release of a game Very Happy

Personally I like the game very much, but I don't find it much challenging so far.. Sad

I see. Is there a way to make screenshots directly with the game? I believe that's what the "seta image_screenshotquality 100" command is for. If yes, how and where does the game save them?

Because it's not, sadly. It's a very, very easy game and I've only died twice so far ...... due to falling in a canyon whilst attempting a Drone jump. The actual enemies? Not challenging at all and I wish I'd put it on Nightmare/whatever right from the start.

My biggest disappointment is definitely the invisible walls. The game has such scope and potential, but it's hindered by linearity and a distinct lack of exploration.

That didn't work, so I asume it is not.

Edit: My bad. It seems it is like that, but it saves them in the Saved Games folder. I thought it was the game's folder. One problem though, it's just a .jpg and it only took one screenshot, even though I pressed F12 3 times.

Why not use Fraps then? It's free and doesn't take up any significant amount of resources Smile

I need to execute the cfg twice though, as it doesn't execute all the commands the first time (in the menu). I think that's all, it works pretty well like that. Also, the game looks like this:

Oh, don't get me wrong, I have Fraps and I can use it if I want... I just wanted to test the game's screenshot function. I usually use Xfire to take all my screenshots in games and I can keep them online like that too.

Well i moved to London because of a job contract and that tooked most of my free time.

But anyway the guy was talking about Pc Goty. That's why i draw your attention to killzone 3. Killzone 3 a awesome game wich i personally wished that they could release it on pc for some mouse and keyboard action. But that would most likely never happend.

Confused Confused Confused

I'm playing just fine on AMD GPU here...

1 thing i have to give good credit to this game tho, the AI of mutants is AMAZING when it comes to terrain usage, climb over objects/cars and so on just to get to you. instead of just running around objects.

PostPosted: Fri, 7th Oct 2011 19:36    Post subject: Unable to install RAGE - 'source file corrupted' error
Hi

The first disk installs OK but disk 2 gets stuck at virtualtextures/wasteland1.pages.

The message I get is: 'An error occured while trying to copy a file: the source file is corrupted. '

This seems unlikely as all the disks extracted fine. I am running Windows 7 32, have over 35 GB free for installation.

I assume I cannot just skip this file?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated
