Use this "Red.Faction.Armageddon.Crack.Patchfix2.By.Ali213" and you won't have errors under DX11. I played the game under DX11 using that crackfix and had no problems.
No numbers though.
But its probably because, as they said, they see themselves as "one of the big boys" now and might have expected the sales to match that.

THQ announced they are officially killing the Red Faction series and the staff will work on Insane!
Quote:
"Given that that title, now in two successive versions, has just found a niche, we do not intend to carry forward with that franchise in any meaningful way," Farrell said. He described the development team at Volition as "talented," and noted that they would be moving on to the company's Guillermo del Toro project, Insane.
Woot! Happy to see Insane is going to be on full production mode!
Sorry I don't care about the Red Faction games
A spokesperson from the publisher clarified to IGN saying Red Faction is not being "killed off," that would be overstating Farrell's comments. THQ was only able to say there are "no current plans for the franchise at this time."
Yeah, yeah, whatever, point taken, it's dead in the water

I want to ring him and say 'perhaps if you fucking meet gamers expectations' - like it's actually the games fault and not the result of a shitty rush job.
Send him a tweet... assuming he has an account.

With this game they managed to completely kill the franchise, proposing a linear pew pew galore that got boring after 20 minutes of play...that decision makes sense after all. :/
You didn't play long enough if you only played for 20 minutes. That's not even completion of the tutorial, I think?
The game is a decent addition to RF, not specatular, but not horrible either. RFG was the odd man out and while the sandbox was neat, it made things too samey.
No no don't get me wrong, I played it until the 5-6th mission and I didn't even completely dislike it at first, but after the umpteenth "follow the straight line and kill everything that moves" I started to get so bored that had to uninstall it
I didn't finish the game, even though I thought I would, but this was so much better than Guerrilla. I don't get how can some of you say that this was repetitive and boring and Guerrilla wasn't. What if it was open world. That didn't add anything to the game in my opinion, it just made it even more boring. Armaggedon would have been perfect if it would have been more varied. I prefer a more linear game when it comes to Red Faction, the open world style just doesn't fit Red Faction. There were way too many amazingly boring activities and other things in Guerrilla, it just doesn't work that way.

They tried to establish a multimedia franchise but nothing worked. It wasn't just Armageddon that bombed.
Hence why they think Red Faction is a niche game franchise that cannot expand its fanbase.

It get bashed a lot for being linear, but people seem to forget that 1 and 2 also were linear shooters. It's not like the serie been the master of open-world-gameplay. While I do think Geurrilla was better, Armageddon is not worse then part 1 and 2 (in my opinion). All in all, all of the Red Faction games have been pretty sub-par. It was fun when their destruction engine was new and innovative, played RF1 to death in multi-player and had a blast just tearing the level down, but now it's not that impressive anymore.

1 and 2 were amazing for their time. What else compared?
Why doesn't anyone expect games to evolve at the rate they used to when they so clearly can? 10 years ago did you picture a Red Faction game where you couldn't even make the same holes in walls, when at the time, 10 years previous to that, the best we had were 8/16 bit graphics?
Ridiculous. Lack of effort and trying to pump out cheap quick profits has been the games downfall. You could clearly see the effort that went into Guerilla, all they needed to do was improve on it by giving the player more to do.
Well, as much as I want games to evolve I never really saw RF as a game-serie that did. Fun games yes, but not much else. Sure Guerilla had some stuff going on, but I had quite small expectations over all for the serie. Maybe my small expectations makes me not hate Armageddon as much as some people here?
Yes the DLC above would not work without 1.01, it updated the exe files and patched several files for the actual DLC (That did not exist earlier.) so it's required.
EDIT: But as far as I know the patch does little else, nothing announced on Steam for example but perhaps there's some few fixes and optimizations via the new exe files instead of further DLC support or engine changes for the new features in the DLC missions.
(Code for the two new weapons as a example.)
It's above 1.4 GB or so now with DLC so I can't handle it for uploading just the data (Getting a better connection in a few months however which should resolve the situation.) just as with the two-three latest Shogun updates.
(I tried doing a complete pack yesterday and the file reached 1.7 GB compressed though it couldn't be compressed much further than already, those modified movie patch files take nearly 900 MB alone to name one of the things that causes this large file size.)
