Hello, I have been in the same mode for 2 months or so my main machine in my sig other than throwing an xp3200 and i purchased the bfg6600gt due to good cost and didn't want to throw $400 or so for a 6800 agp with the new pci express,so think and think more , i am going for the ASUS SLI 64 DELUXE, AMD 64 3500 about $500 at tigerdirrect and the BFG 6800 ultra pcix,my friend wiil take my 6600gt off my hands a great card i might add, and the best thing of all is my CORSAIRxms dual channel memory is matched for my new board, good luck ....

Forget the word 64bit, just look at the clock speed, as the 64 means almost nothing right now. As for PCI-E, the latest gen of PCI-E cards are the first truely worthwhile, but I doubt your going to see much of a difference in performance by spending £400 upgrading your mobo and gfx card then leaving the old CPU in.
Your system is sitting in a state of being old over all, to get an noticable performance difference you need to upgrade a number of parts. New CPU, Mobo, GFX card and some new ram (well no, 1gb DDR400 should be fine ).. My point being, if you only upgrade one thing, your still going to have major bottle necks.

It's funny when ever your ready to order anything you always change your mind before you hit enter,i decided to spend the extra on the "San Diego 64" for the 1 MB of cache and i'm still price shopping for the BFG 6800 ultra 256, since the 512 6800 came out it should drive the price down in a week or so, this will be the damage for the MB and CPU
