default DX9 AA is Edge AA, basically a blur filter they use on consoles. FXAA is developed by nVidia researcher, not sure if its support by ATi card. Its a improved version of MLAA that works with sub pixel level objects and geometry.

Is everyone else getting shitty and floaty mouse movement once you get to the roof? Up to this point (through tutorial and the building level) it was perfect, but then on freeing the hostages mission, it suddenly became shit.

The default (dx9) AA is called EdgeAA and honestly I'm not even sure it works at all.
The advanced (dx11) AA is called FXAA and it's definitely working.
But according to their PR, one of the DX11 features of the game is MLAA.
So that FXAA DX11 option should read MLAA..
Also one of the reasons the coder of FXAA created it, is because he was looking to write a decent shader based algorithm that runs on all dx9+ hardware.
So if FXAA is written to run in dx9 (and Crysis 2, DNF, Conan prove it), making the FXAA option DX11 only in the launcher doesn't make any sense.
On the other hand we know MLAA is DX11 only (implemented via DirectCompute) so it does makes perfect sense for it to be absent when running in DX9.
I conclude that they were either in the process of moving from FXAA to MLAA or from MLAA to FXAA or replacing EdgeAA with FXAA and what's written in the launcher is not accurate.
As for the availability of FXAA, nvidia have not patented it or anything, anyone can use it.
Same for MLAA actually that was something intel came up with and soon enough it spread to PS3, but AMD has a ready implementation of it for DX11 GPUs.

I just realized why my game was stuttering. I forgot that I was running my CPU at stock speed (2.8Ghz) for a few days. I forgot I had it at this speed due to school work and finals. I just clocked it back up to 4.4Ghz and no stuttering at all in DX11 mode
So for those of you getting stuttering, try OCing your CPU a bit. It worked for me

Ok, so it seems my stuttering (mouse jagginess) problems are CPU bound - no matter how high I OC it, there's still only what seems like one thread, and that is at 100% on a single core, rest are just chilling. Hmm...

Ok, so if I disable core 0 in affinity, once the game menu has loaded, the game is smoother by a little, but mouse is still not as responsive as a PC game's mouse control should be. Sadly, I pretty much know this won't change come release - it never does. Once you emulate mouse, the delay remains.

You're also assuming it's indeed 30%.

@Timechange just looked through your WC Build post. Nice, very nice. So when you actually do Change Time tell John Titor I said, "Hi."

Well, it tipped me over. It's not Deus Ex 1, but it's still way better than anything similar that comes out these days. If they fix the issues it has in this build, the game's worth it for me. The graphics I don't really give a shit about; most of the textures suck balls, and besides that it's not particularly imaginative (not to mention overly bright and "plasticy", even with PP off), but they did pay a lot of attention to detail in all other aspects. Little things like the Nigerian scam email, or even the typical fucked up spelling by the general native English speaking person being there in private emails between people (difference between "they're", "their" and "there" for example ).
I'm still not quite there on the gameplay front either as far as this matching the original; while I don't mind the shooting being more shooter friendly, the augmentations still seem unbalanced, and I don't think these will change much from hereon.
They do need to fix the PC side of things though. Do mouse input properly, allow proper binding of all buttons and actions (my mouse's buttons don't work besides left/middle/right).
Still, beats the shit out of Derp Effect or Alpha Protocol for example, which are probably the closest we've had recently. Plenty of content, a much better conversation system, more interesting hacking minigame than AP for example. It's no secret that I really dislike Derp Effect and that I think AP was a missed opportunity, but I can still see why people liked them. Even in its current state it's better than those 2, especially since both of them suffered from fucked up mouse input as well until you went into the config files.
Damn, means I might actually spend more money on AAA titles this year than I did on indie games last year! Almost anyway

I think for me it's the soundtrack. I just feel like I am back playing Unreal. Not talking any tournies here. Unreal. I do not know how many times I watched the castle fly-over when the bug had bit me to make my computer better. I beleive unreal put me where i am today as a robotics engineer because I wanted the damn thing to run so well. Tweak, Tweak Tweak!
Getting off topic. The music is old school, in a nice way, though.

Finished it with exploring everything/doing all the sidemissions and i gotta say its pretty awesome, its not deux ex 1 yet, and it wont probably get there even with the rest of the content, but its a worthy successor. I hope this version is about 15-20% of the final game.
I really hope they fix some of the comical dialogues, weird looking faces and a few hud elements.

Spoiler: |
First of the lab rooms, there's two you know that are a bit more like open areas with equipment and a hallfway with a center room and two cameras as the path between them, up the stairs at the far end of the first room is a lounge where the hostages are, sneak or neutralize the enemies and either go trough the door and be really quick with the hacking mini-game or find the air-duct and get into the room that way.

as far as story and themes go, I think this is DX1 level. My only, and really only gripe is the mouse controls, makes it impossible to shoot well and fast. Why is that bad you ask? Because RPGs are about choice, and choice to play it like a confrontational moron is such a choice.
Also, I find takedowns too easy. Sometimes, I take someone down, while a mate is looking partway his direction, and is like 3 meters away. Stealth should be harder.
Oh, and if I want to stealth KILL, then it's easy, just stay in cover, use that silencer, and pew pew headshot wins.

Maybe it's because I don't think Deus Ex was the epitome of gaming (no shooter based game will be that for me) or because I don't remember the game as well as most people here, but this game seems to be better. Yes it has its quirks (aka "new design"), but I enjoy it. Unless it turns to shit after the five hours I played (I won't go further), it's awesome. There are some shit parts as I said, but the original Deus Ex (or any game for that matter) was far from perfect.
I do hate the cinematic takedown bullshit as much as I hated them in Witcher 2 though. It ruins immersion and stops being "awesome" when you've seen it twice. I wonder what kind of prick believes this shit remains interesting throughout an entire game. It'd be fine if it was purely optional, but it's very useful in some situations. Some design choices in games really have no logic these days, I will never understand.
As far as graphics goes, looked aight on DX11 with everything on highest. Character models need work obviously, but I'm sure that can be done. If this is how the game looks and plays three!! months before release, it can't be anything but great with all that polish time.
