So...erm...what is the exact name of the "demo"? Since it's not a scene release i'll have to use shitty torrents. Sad

edit: as for the stealth system, it's very difficult to be 100% sneaky (maybe..impossible?) since there are always groups of 4-5 soldiers around, but probably with an enormous amount of patience it will be possible to achieve the perfect ninja status. Actually I'm not even close to that. Razz

Try move some boxes away from the walls, there are often hidden vents etc which give you an alternative route or vantage point etc.

I must admit I'm liking this a lot so far, probably going to be picking up the full version on release tbh.

I honestly believe, barring any massive failures still to come, it's going to take a seriously negative person to slam this game. Combat feels brilliant (you really CAN'T take more than 2-3 hits on Deus Ex difficulty, and the enemy flank you really well) and the dialogues/story are great. Some visual complaints, but nothing major and it does still look nice. Ambience is, so far, Deus Ex.

I'm happy to read that man. Now do us a favor and play with the yellow outline enabled and give us some feedback Cool Face

F5/F8 is quick save/quick load, it's not listed in the controls so I thought I'd mention it.

Also F10 seems to do a FOV adjustment but it pauses the game at the same time, so not sure what that is, probably just some debug stuff.

I tried it, just for shits and giggles, and yes; it's every bit as annoying as I suspected. The option to disable it is very, VERY well received. If you absolutely positively have to put a highlight system in; take notes from CryTek and their implementation in Crysis 2. Now THAT was a good highlight system. The hue and thickness of the highlight was subtle, it emphasised what you could use without being garish and in your face.

That was a good system. This? No So yeah, thankfully you can disable it.

I am loving TEH SHIT out of this game. Admittedly, being a DE fanboy, I may be more than a little biased... but I also believe my love of DE would have been reason to slam the shit out of anything that failed to live up to those lofty standards. Instead I find that I'm thoroughly enjoying it, with a fabulous game world that actually feels alive. I'm more than a little impressed, so I'll just re-quote myself again;

It's part of the game, just walk forward a few steps and you'll get an infolink message Wink

Like a mix, to be honest. Definitely MUCH bigger than DE2 - which was split to hell and back with loading screens - but not as open and barren as some of the larger DE1 maps.

I fucking love it. The music, atmosphere, feels like a proper Deus Ex (in the new era). And this is only a shitty beta, I am very pleased. And trying not to play past the fucking tutorial and ruin everything for myself.

Does anyone know how to fix the brightness in the game? It seems way too dark and if I turn the luminosity up from default I see texture bands.

It's a DX11 problem, just change it to DX9.

You can still change everything on the game menu.

Wish they had a non-shitty (IMO) collector's edition type order. And, yes, I'm aware of the augmented edition. A fuckin' tiny art book and a disc with extras on it...that's not a collector's edition in my book. I'm talking Fallout3 type stuff. Or the Witcher2 (Even though I didn't order that game). I want substance in special editions. (Another good one, but not computer game related, was the Blade Runner movie collector's edition.) Shit like that. Smile

Do you know if its an nvidia only problem or both ati/nvidia suffer from it?

Make a shortcut to the .exe and add -setup to it.

Are you talking about in the beginning?

It's part of the game.. you need to go to the tech lab to get it fixed.

After that, the flashing stops.

I'm very impressed with this game.. I've seen a few oddities that I have full confidence will be fixed by release (weird ragdoll stuff, etc.)

Thanks! That's exactly what I wanted.

The control scheme is pissing me off a bit, and the graphics are pretty boring and need a lot more love but eh not a dealbreaker.
