So on those secondary mission "street crimes", is it possible to take a less than lethal approach? A lot of the times the objective says to "subdue the suspect", which I don't take to mean kill. I've tried shooting them in the hand, arms, legs...always end up killing the perp. Am I missing something?

Unfortuantely not; I tried a tonne of times to do a non-lethal takedown. 2-3 shots in the leg will make them drop and complete the mission, but they still end up getting taken to the morgue. (pussies) Rolling Eyes

Install from the disk? IIRC you don't need Live to install dashboard updates.

According to the in-game statistics, you CAN stop people from running by firing "warning shots" - yet I've never managed to pull it off.

I mean the game patch install on a banned xbox.
I think we have to find the patch file and make some kind of usb "trick" Smile

On the second mission, I think, I made the "warning shot".....chased some jewelry seller.

Doh... sorry, I thought you meant system update. Yes, there's a way to install patches (they're called title updates) - but first you need to wait for someone to actually provide them.

http://marketplace.xboxmodder.com/updates/index.php

That should be getting hold of the TU soon(is). Hopefully... I'm now offline with my 360 due to the launch of the new dashboard, which I won't be installing.

Yeah, the only way to subdue the suspect is to do warning shot by aiming at him and hold the dot on the suspect until the circle around the dot fills up - your guy fires a few warning shots in the air and the suspect stops. But it's pretty tough since the chases happen on narrow streets with a lot of tight turns. And while trying to do a warning shot you might end up lagging behind too much or even losing the suspect.

http://www.xbuc.net/ has the update
digiex.net is also a good source for future reference (has the Fallout NV TU4)

e: oh and yea, playing them from usb is real easy

-format USB on XBOX 360
-put it on pc
-install and use USBXTAFGUI
-mount usb in it
-inject Title Update in Cache Partition -> Cache

Just make sure you don't clear System Cache on your usb, or you will wipe the TU off. This method works for 99.99% of TU's. The only exception I know of is the latest Fallout NV update that requires you to install the game disk on the USB and inject the TU in there.

It's nothing like GTA at all. If that's what you are looking for, don't download.

No, not exactly. From what I remember, Multiman can read NTFS drives but cannot mount images from them. You therefore have to copy the image/folders over to the internal drive like normal.

You could format the drive to Fat32 presuming there are no big files. Fat 32 mounts properly.

You don't get any message to install the patch, this way the patch is "installed" already in the System Cache. In most games there is no real way of telling. Sometimes there is a version number (Fallout NV), sometimes there is options there that werent there before (Red dead redemption, Gears of War 2), sometimes there is nothing (LA Noire).

A surefire way to test if the game is using your usb drive (while the game runs on disc or HDD) is to pull out the usb while its playing. If it asks to put the usb back, it's using the update (which is always unless you got the wrong Title update, see below).

1 thing though: sometimes there are multiple versions of games, and therefor multiple Title Updates. To make sure you can compare the media ID of your game with the media ID of the Update (which is usually mentioned before you download). You can use abgx for that.

Also: title updates are incremental. So for instance Title update 7 of a game has the changes of all other 6 updates awell.

Not sure I get it, so if the game is running from the dvd the USB has to be plugged in the xbox the whole time for the update to work?

Bleh for some reason Multiman just freezes while trying to read my NTFS drive.. I setup the USB.cfg etc but no luck. I dont really want to transfer 24gb over ftp as that will take awhile.. is there a tool to split the game so it fits onto my FAT32 drive and then Multiman can read it?
