About the female body design. Did he rant that cdp didnt do a good job or did he compare to other "disney" games with ridiculios female body design?

Yea, 24 hours is with the majority of the side-quests completed, some other reviewer had similar results + a couple of hours. Sad

good thing is that it should be out pretty damn quick - atleast the gog version... id expect to see it going up right after activation, no?

and re: play length.. i wonder how much it can be stretched out by soaking up atmosphere, and talking to random npcs and shit... i mean plenty of games that can be stretched out quite easily just by taking the time to enjoy them, can actually be finished pretty quick if you just optimize your travel and plow through the quests...

Even among the reviewers there are differences when it comes to the play lenght. The other one mentioned something around 28h. It seems there's quite a bit of exploration in TW2, as opposed to the first one, so play time may be quite dependant on how much you snoop around. I'm definitely a bit concerned about it, but still, if the game is as non-linear as they seem to suggest and the gameplay is actually deep, focused, instead of being artificially prolonged by filler quests and backtracking, then I should be satisfied.

Gamelength doesn't mean anything. I remember games that took me 20+ hours while people here said "done, took me 8 hours". It all depends on how you play. Witcher 2 is also all about replay value.

thats pretty much what i was getting at. you can run a game quick, or you can take your time and soak it in... something i doubt the reviewers did very much of.

With reviewers saying the mainquest is at least 25 or hours,it's pretty clear than you can drag it out to very fulfilling length. Some people finish RPGs in 25 hours, some 45 or more.

Guys, could someone tell me what do you download from the GOG when you buy the game, installless game files or do you download the instalation, just like it would come on a DVD? I'm thinking about buying the first and prepurchasing the second for 50$ altogether, but I'd also like to burn them on a DVD, and I want to know if I'd have to make an installer.

Thanks

You get the full files via manual downloads of those five setup binaries (And you can join them manually via Chunk if you want after using the downloader.) Chiv. Smile

However after comparing both the setup-1.bin file seems damaged, it's two MB off from all others (Minus the final one which is 1.6 GB instead of 2.0 GB)

You can see this by the 40th / final chunk via the download manager (400 KB versus 2MB) or you can check file properties on the full file and note the full length byte size.

It could be intentional (If split at 2GB all files would be identical - At the reported 2.10000 bytes or so. - aside from the final smaller file otherwise.) but it would mean a full re-download of the data on release day or it's a damaged upload as the way I see it the final 100 MB or so archive and the setup exe are still on their server as the files that remain to be downloaded, you test the download links to verify this easily (As I said earlier, can't download those until the 16th to 17th Midnight though.)

I sent a email trying to get a better answer but we'll see.

I´d rather have 25 hours of great fun without any dull moments than a 40 hour game where half of that time is spent doing filler quests and other stuff that is only there to artificially lengthen the game. Since when does game length equal how great a game is?? Give me a game that´s short and sweet over a game where I´m bored out of my mind halfway through any time.
