prices are 100euro or 120USD
Way to much for something that does not do homebrew and can be patched any second by MS.

Exactly.. and the "remote" plugs into the device itself via USB, there's no device<>360 USB interaction. I honestly don't see how MS could detect, let alone ban, this device.

easy to let the emulator run the game on the same speed as the dvd drive.
these guys are very smart emulating a whole drive is no joke this requires serious skills

Fuck the Royal Wedding. I want to marry this X360 key! If this thing really works I could just skip replacing my faulty dvd drive for €30. I should have replaced it 4 months ago, but now for once my procrastination has paid off
Just one question: isn't the guy who invented this thing going to be completely killed by Microsoft's lawyers...?

No more so than the team who created the WODE for the Wii, which is much the same device.

I think it's nieve to suggest MS won't find a quick method to detect and ban this. Let's not for one minute under-estimate MS, they will do everything in their power and within their ability to identify, ban and probably block such a device working.
So often does the hacking scene get excited, and make statements like "Sony will never be able to protect themselves now we have these keys", however in realistic terms, there is always a way. Yes it'll always be cat and mouse, but to assume that this device will be 100% undetectable and 100% unbannable is a risky assumption.
I'd say it's rather likely people are underestimating what MS will do to counter this.

Team WODE Announces XODE - X360 Optical Drive Emulator
we can only say this: "XBOX OPTICAL DRIVE EMULATOR aka XODE" is coming... For now we can not release specific information or images, which would benefit x360key...
after seeing the features and prices x360key we can say that:
1- Fortunately x360key follows the "old" approach of Wode... XODE instead introduces a new way of working really original... we will surprise you.
2- XODE will work on XBOX SLIM since its launch with a 100% support of AP25.
3-Half price then a X360KEY in production!!! thanks the new "original" concept of point 1...
We plan to release a first proof of working at middle/end of may with a nice video working on a X360 SLIM console... and a detailed review near the release of X360KEY... Production will be ready on JULY.
We advise all to wait before place BIG pre-orders from WIIKEY/X360KEY team, it is wise to don't risk too much... after not tell us that there were not warned...
PS: we found time also to update WODE platform, finally the WEB interface is almost ready, we plan to release this feature next week.

back in the day starforce and tages did anything in their power to stop emulation..they failed why do you think Microsoft can do it ? while building protections is not even their specialty. they have only 1 way to stop it and that is online activation protection. they couldn'stop drive flashing either its still possible.. and now with this device hackers have more space then an simple mtkflash chip. comparing to ps3 is not a good comparision the ps3 hack consist of exploiting the loaders to get the keys.. this hack does not use an exploit..

I don't see how you can make statements like that. You have no idea exactly how the device works yet, and thus there is no possible way you can know for sure whether MS can detect / ban it.

Well, the only way they can detect if the drive is "fake" or not is to send it commands and see how it responds and if it responds correctly and with the same timing of a "real" drive. While it is probable that the s360key/WODE teams missed something and that MS will be able to detect the oddity, it's almost certaing that it can be fixed via a software update of the drive emulator. So my guess is that after a few updates it will be undetectable by MS. (all of this is just speculation on my part of course).

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice, glad to see some competition! I'm surprised Team WODE are offering a "cheaper" solution, considering their WODE device for the Wii is the same price as the x360key. Still, as long as it does the same job.. I'll be happy.
