This game is fucking awsome everything really is eye opening when the sieges happen, Catapults fling huge rocks into castle walls and they come crumbling down... men are thrown off the walls into the air as the boulders smash into them. Huge logs of fire can be rolled off the castle walls into huge battles with fire setting people alight and running about. The frame rates take a nasty dive though as its so intense!!!

This is Castles 2005 , any remember the original?? well this is just what its like of todays technology

The 1.1 patch for Stronghold 2 has been released for automatic download. If you are connected to the internet when you start the game you will get an option to either play or download the update. We have asked FireFly if there will be a manual download available but haven't had an answer yet.

From the readme the patch fixes the following issues -

* User selectable invasions added to Free Build (F1)
* A few campaign chapters have been made easier
* Increased feedback of impending invasions
* Formations now place shields at the front and weaker units at the back of the formation
* Non-missile troops now respond to more aggressively to missile attacks
* Additional speech added to Carter Post system
* A.I. more effective at using mantels, cats and burning logs
* Health bars on buildings added
* All units of one type are selectable by double-clicking
* Advanced patrols implemented
* LAN support for Multiplayer added
* Various bug fixes implemented

What's you system's specs? I'm getting fps close to 20-25 when zoomed out on the first missions of the peaceful campaign. I'm running it with a 3200+, 1gb ram ddr400, 6800gt, drivers 61.77.
