After starting the game, the screen would be black. I've read that if you wait for 5 minutes it will load. Well, I left it that way before going to bed. The next morning, I still get a black screen!
Worse of all, I can't alt-tab out of the game to kill the damn thing. I ended up having to reboot my computer. Anyone know of a remote-process kill app?

i use http://www.beyondlogic.org/solutions/processutil/processutil.htm though i've never tried it on a remote computer. when crap crashes on my computer i usually still can access my start/run thing, even if i cannot actually see what i write so i try to just enter 'process -k swat4.exe' and hope for the best.
process.exe helped me through mafia since that game always crashed for me, i got a black screen but when pressing ctrl-esc or win i could see parts of the startmenu, like everything but the actual startbutton and what i typed in run

I get that black screen - it's obviously associated with the startup videos. Just press escape a couple of times when you first see it - it should pass.

either disable your firewall software, or allow SWAT.EXE in your firewall.
this problem has been discussed heaps on the tech support forums on VU's website

Game rocks, I cant wait to play it in co-op for a while, I like tactical things in co-op when you have to work as a team, makes for a good fun game that you have to think about.

I played multyplayer on cracked server and those guys hwo have original copy of game are telling to me that i have "warez bug", they cant see my head and my gun, anyone have patch to fix that problem?????

Lol , I was complaining I had played that guy on one of the servers (3rd day I got the game i think) you could clearly tell he was cheating I also hate ppl like that.

Thanks for the link. I've tried remote task manager (http://www.protect-me.com/rtm/), process explorer (http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/procexp.shtml), and symantec's pcanywhere (http://www.symantec.com/pcanywhere/Consumer/index.html). I couldn't get remote task manager to connect to my pc with SWAT running. I got pcanywhere to connect but it could not kill the remote SWAT process.
It seems like there are some process on windows that just cannot be kill -- sort of like zombie processes on unix/linux.
Well, when I press alt-tab, everything is black except for my mouse cursor. Then if I move it around, the cursor changes to the resize window cursor. Then I would resize some windows (since I can't see nothing) -- I feel like a blind bat. LOL.
I've since uninstalled SWAT after getting so frustrated with it.

I've tried that already. I have zonearlarm. Since I couldn't see sqat when I alt-tab, I when ahead and added the .exe manually to zonealarm. Then I would not allow it access to the internet or as act as a server. Once I did that, I launched swat. But it would get stuck again.

Well. You shouldnt normally shout cheater, because you would have no proof. I just know this because I can tell. I played RvS before. The way this game was designed, you cant take a AK-47 while running spead, shoot 3 bullets into 2 targets from far away into their head. When your in running mode, the bullets split. I know how all this is done. In order to make auto aim for a game that doesnt have it you would have to code in ASM. You guys should be happy that this game doesnt have any maps to show player locations. The cheaters would use red line to give away positions on the map to get to you faster.
There are good players on this game, they just get mixxed up with the cheaters. You cant download the trainers publicly either because their private. Their like that until the games out awhile.
Well, the thing about Ludacrist is that he came in sucking real bad, than in 2 games he started to get 20 kills. Good variety of them were from shooting through the walls. Also, they use that auto aim in order to use stun guns on you to arrest you.
Theres only two things you can do since this is on cracked servers. Cheat back. Or you can wait for the new anti-cheat patch to come out, than host. I'm pretty sure everyone on the server has to have it.

I give up. I've tried the intro patch. I've tried the "repeatedly hit the esc keys." I've tried adding the SWAT4.exe process to zonealarm. Nothing. All I get is a black screen. If I alt-tab, I get my mouse cursor. Whatever I do, I cannot get rid of the black screen (other than a forced reboot -- which makes zonealarm amnesic).
So, I bid farewell to SWAT 4. Props to everyone else who got it to work. For some reason, my 1394 drive isn't working anymore after I installed SWAT 4. Hmmmm... Oh, well. I've spent enough time wasted on trying to get SWAT 4 to run on my machine that I could have spent playing 4 other games combined (or go watch Sin City or go get food and nourishment or go outside and play...).

Swat 4 used to run great here(for a couple of days) but now my computer tends to lock up(monitor goes on standby) or even worse just reboots while playing online... I checked the temperature and stuff(everything is ok). I'm wondering if this is some kinda of protection. Well anyway i'm not playing (cracked) coop anymore cause it sucks to always have to reboot the computer...

Naw, sometimes Swat 4 minimizes on me when im playing. It gets annoying.

I still 100% beleive that SWAT4 cracked has worse sounding sound then normal retail. All I know is that when I played the cracked release it didnt have as many channels, and it just sounded lower quality.

Ive had no problems with SWAT4. Online or solo. Had it since it came out aswell...runs great
