omg. kingdom hearts 1 on pcsx2 is taking up all my play time. i've gone 15h straight. it aged fairly well for an 8 year old game. this is mainly due to the stylized graphics.
i tried to play it many times in the past but never made it beyond the first movie (can't skip and i didn't have the patience to wait at the time). i also thought the combat was turned based like final fantasy x (which i hated along with forced random battles and lots of pop-up dialog boxes you have to push a button to continue).
about the only bad thing about kh is the camera control. most of the japanese based games i've played have archaic camera system (like you move left it rotates right...the heck?). in kh you don't use the right analogue stick to move the camera, you use the left/right trigger. wtf?
anyway, i'm looking forward to beating it eventually moving on to kingdom hearts 2.
i have filled up 1.5 tb and 1 tb hd full of just emulator games. i just ordered a 2 tb drive. i have another 1 tb drive filled with just pc games. the other two 1 tb drives i have filled with mp3/videos.
seems like DXBX is having nice progress... I might volunteer personally to to help them. Xbox1 is basically the Hardest previous consoles Get to emulate... it will be nightmare in the future to try to emulate 360 or PS3.... but 360 emulator will be blast, this console's games library is Screaming for emulation...
hehe that's one of the reasons why i got interested in the emu scene again, i totally adore the old SNES DKC games.
Does it work well on the Dolphin?
Having fun with Mariokart (GC) right now, looks and plays great in 1080p.. The wii version wasnt as smooth (and imo the game is inferior to the GC version), but i should probably play it in 720p instead..
If someone here looked at Emuforums at DXBX section, seems that X-box Emulation if Finally making Faster and Faster Progress.
it's still far away the Level JPCSP for example had reached{JPCSP itself is far away from "perfect" emulation as well}....but the fact that more and more news and more successfulness for loading X-box Stuff, seems that upcoming months we might see a breakthrough in X-box emulation, maybe it already reached it?
the links are from the last few days/hours:
http://forums.ngemu.com/dxbx-official-discussion/140352-dxbx-0-5-released.html
I suggest for people to keep their eye on that, maybe even try to help the developers if you have X-box games and test them on the emulator to see what is the result...
I have a slowdown issue with MGS3 on PCSX2 latest version. The game works fine for a while, then at specific places (meaning it's not random), the game simply slows down along with the sound. The framerate is fine, but looks like it switches to "bullet time", even the sound is pitching down. I tried all kinds of settings, couldn't nail it (changed resolution, sound settings, etc.)
I use a PAL BIOS, if that matters, the game being NTSC. My hardware : E8400, 4GB RAM, GTX260 1GB VRAM.
Anyone else had these issues ?
PS : i played FF-X, FF-XII for many hours without problems, rendered at 2048x2048.
i tried r1981 build from 'http://buildbot.orphis.net/jpcsp/' with gow:coo. it got all the way to the 'fake mpeg' then after video loads 100% it hangs jcsp. i'm not sure how 'B1ackDaemon' in that youtube video got past the intro video where it hangs for me. i think it's due to loading a save game which i don't have so i'm sol.
trying gow:coo on pcsp 0.5.2 yields a black screen.
psp emulation still has a long way to go. it's making very nice advancement though.
Fake video? That's not "loading", it's just the start-end shown in percentage.
In order to see any videos, if the emu can decode them, you need to go to Options->Configruation, Media tab and check "use media engine".
Some games need to decode files (The 3rd Birthday for example) so you need to install SonicStage and then in the same media tab select "decode audio files with SonicStage".
I don't know about God of War
Did you try his settings? He wrote them down in the description
Video: Use vertex cache, Use shaders, Enable VAO
Media: Use Media Engine, Decode audio files with SonicStage
If this is what you see, then enable the media engine

I'm very excited, I just fixed the rendering issues!! Well... this it's worked for me anyway, don't know that it will work for other people because I really don't know what I'm doing.. I was just screwing around with the custom projection hack settings on a somewhat trial and error basis.
zNear correction: no value (leave blank)
do not tick the "(-)+zNear" box
zFar correction: 1.99998
tick the "(-)+zFar" box

Yes, nicely done. I'll commit those projection settings to the svn.

i just tried some 'tatsunoko vs capcom' action with dolphin r7170 svn. using dx11 mode with 16x anisotropic filtering and 8 samples anti-aliasing in full screen 2560x1600 resolution equals glorious bliss.
i tried 'dead space extraction' but couldn't get past the part where you're supposed to turn the wii mote sideways to put in the rivets. oh, well. it looks like you don't have control of your character movement other than aiming and shooting stuff anyway. blah.
