Also, game looks better than GTA4 tbh.

Nah I had the same thing with AA. Mentioned it in one of my previous posts. That blurring or Depth of Field effect they do at range causes serious jaggies. Especially bad if you are moving. It looks very similar to running a game on a very low non-native resolution on a LCD screen.

Just started downloading them demo.
What I'm kind of interested in is, who here, is willing to hand over 10 extra bucks for the "digital deluxe" version?
I mean digital artbook, digital map, sountrack only in file format.
That's stuff I'd gladly hand over 10 bucks more for a printed artbook, map etc. but only digital?
Pretty weak imo :/

Check out these awesome 640x480 screenshots!!!111
Spoiler: | |
tbh, the game doesn't look anywhere near as good as GTA4. tbh, the combat isn't as satisfying. tbh, the world feels a lot more stale. tbh, the jaggies need sorting out. tbh, it was a fun game but it's no GTA4.
tbh.

Yeah it looks better than gta (although something is wrong with sabin's pics, i swear it looks better here) and the performance is way better also. But gameplay wise it's way below. Since this is a driving and shooting game, and both are not very well made (at least not to the Gta4/RDR standard), it's feels disappointing. There's also a Vsync ON lag problem like in Dead Space.
P.S: I just thrown a car to the water to see what it did, and it just vanishes. No drowning animation, nothing, just blinks into oblivion. Bah, lazy devs.

Ok, could someone please answer me, can you guys hear voices in the cutscenes, because I can't, or is that intentional, so they don't spoil part of the story?
Oh, and combat is a lagfest with physx

My bench results on a stock E8400 w/ 5870 @ 950/1220
Spoiler: |
1080p, AA off, everything else set to max apart from APEX/PhysX
1080p, AA on, everything else set to max apart from APEX/PhysX

This thing is not optimised, at all. 100 FPS difference between minimum and maximum? AA hardly has any effect, both visually and performance-wise? And when I exit the game, it leaves my monitor brightness fucked up, i gotta reapply my resolution to get it fixed. Also notice how everyone pretty much gets 40-45 average, regardless of hardware and resolution? Smoothing in action right there.
Gonna give the game itself a try now, graphically it's not stunning and GTA4 looks better. I also dislike how the smoke effects and such are very minimal without NVIDIA hardware.
Guess with this one the gameplay, voice acting, music and story have to make up for a pretty aweful engine
Edit: People calling this optimised need to get a grip. 100 FPS difference between minimum and maximum, with AA that really has no effect is not optimised. Clearly a lot of resources not being used properly.

Have beaten twice the demo so far. As I had been expecting - it's an OK game. It's better than gta4 graphics-wise by a little. As far as the gameplay is concerned, well, nothing too special. Hope the story is captivating at least.
The reviews that have come up by far are correct and markings in the 7/10 or 80% range are pretty deserved, in my opinion. Slightly below GOTY material.
