A very good elemental
Whats really interesting is, you can become as powerful as these titans in the game, literally create or destroy the world; floods, earthquakes, volcanoes, rend the land with your might as you reduce a tropical island to nothing and your enemies a distant memories.
Or create land where there previously was none, see the world adapt to it; huts spring up, dungeons appear, monsters start roaming the landscape.
Of course all this kinda stuff is for the lucky few who actually manages to get such high level spells and maybe a metropolis level city.
And considering how easy it is to mod, as everything is basically xml so you can get your hands dirty, or you can use the ingame editors. Create everything from new maps to new spells, monsters, quests and effects.
Brad Wardell - the ceo of stardock, will a month after the release of the game work on a proof of concept mod that basically changes the game into a fully fledged rpg, just to show how moddable it is.
The entire modding aspect is directly tied to the 'social network' of impulse so you can quickly download and rate other users mods, browse the collective mod resource or test mods and maps with your friends.
That sounds fantastic. About time a game came out with truly devastating spells - granted in RPG's you're limited by game balance (ie. those poor sods who go with fighters or archers/rogue types instead of the totally sexy and clearly most powerful casters would cry their eyes out), but casting the same crappy fireballs all the time tends to get pretty damn tiring.
Awful trailer, that "let's make it look like it's been drawn with a pen but then fade into the real graphics"-effect got old really quick + it didnt show any gameplay. Looking forward to the game though.
I dig turn-based games. I remember the good old days of Panzer General. RTS's pretty much took over though and there haven't been many turn-based strategy games, outside of the very complex wargame simulations, in a long time. I think one of my favorite game of all times was an old Sega Genesis classic called Master of Monsters. I have such fond memories of that game. Hopefully Elemental will be awesome.
Most likely gonna buy this one. Games like this deserves to be bought, the only thing that would stop me is if it turns out to be extremely buggy or poorly optimized, then I might wait till it's patched a bit.
It won't be, beta 4 is primarily about sending in logs, so memory handling can be optimized.
Beta 4 is at the stage, stability and bug wise, that galactic civilizations II was at release.
So the final version is only going to be better.
Chris Taylor isn't involved, so this should be good.
Anyone remember the game "Master of Magic" by Richard Darling/Mastertronic? Yeah, think I prefer that to the other Master of Magic, even.
Epsilon: Game is great btw, I love it, so far it's a definite goty. It's remarkable how much has changed since the beta, stardock have been working their asses off, and it shows.
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
